I heard the CEO is a German Nazi at Harley Davidson. I don’t know how true that is, but the thing is they’re overpriced all they’re interested in how much they can get for a motorcycle. They need to be more passionate. They should be like Henry Ford and want to see everybody have a Harley Davidson motorcycle, do recommend CVO Harley supposed to be to Bentley of motorcycles but I can honestly tell you CVO is the Bentley of Harley Davison. It’s a very good bike but it’s over priced $60,000 for a motorcycle. Unbelievable there is no motorcycle worth that.

Unfortunately for Harley-davidson the Japanese manufacturers have done an outstanding job of providing excellent performance and reliability at a much lower price. Just ride a Kawasaki Nomad versus a Harley-davidson Road King. It's hard to justify the initial cost and subsequent service costs of a Harley-davidson. Just my two cents. I've owned both bikes and prefer the Kawasaki.

I buy privately and used Harley’s. The Dealers and company can kiss my azz. But I love the machines…it isn’t the machines fault. It’s 25k for a new heritage softail. They had a used 2016 with 55k freakin miles on it and still wanted 14k for it 😂😂😂. Insane!! So I bought a 2016 with only 9k miles on it for 11,500 👍. The dealer didn’t gouge me !! And never will !!! But the machines themselves are special. I love them. So I’ll always ride a harley but I won’t be paying the company anything !! They priced the average guy out.

I sure don’t buy into it. I love Harley’s….the machine itself. It’s not the machines fault. It’s the company and dealers. So I buy used Harley’s privately and they don’t get my money. I’m not paying them insane prices at a dealer for new or used bike. Example it’s 25k for a new heritage softail. Insane. They had a used 2016 heritage with 55k freaking miles and STILL wanted 14k for it 😂😂. So I found a 2016 with 9k miles on it and payed 11,500 for it 👍. So I basically got what I consider a new harley for a fraction of what the damn dealer wanted. I avoid the dealers as much as possible

The Tale of How a Brand Gets It Right and How a Brand Gets It Wrong Over the past two weeks, I have been looking to sell some #motorcycles from my collection to make room for new ones. My experiences with two different dealerships and brands have highlighted the stark contrast in customer service and professionalism. #Ducati - Vindis Group: A Model of Excellence: I entrusted my Ducati to Vindis in Cambridge, and the team there was nothing short of exceptional. They diligently worked on the bike, providing expert advice on its condition and any further work needed. When a prospective buyer came to view the bike, the Vindis team presented it in the most professional manner possible. They facilitated the sale seamlessly and even agreed to hold the bike until the transaction was complete. Their customer-centric approach ensuredthe buyer and I felt well-informed and satisfied, and critically made me want to buy another Ducati. #HarleyDavidson - LIND in Newmarket: A Lesson in Poor Service: Regrettably, my encounter with the LIND Harley Davidson team in Newmarket was a stark contrast. While they did manage to get the bike MOT'd, their handling of the sale process was deeply disappointing. They made several assumptions about the bike's history and condition, discussing these directly with the buyer without consulting me. This not only created confusion but also undermined my credibility as a seller. It seemed their primary focus was to push for the sale of dealer-stocked bikes, rather than honestly representing my motorcycle. When I raised these concerns, I was met with an aggressive and bullying response. Unlike the courteous and professional Ducati dealer, the LIND team attempted to penalise me for my complaint. They went as far as introducing a charge of £18 per day for storing the bike-a clear punitive act designed to intimidate and silence my criticism. The Verdict: A Clear Winner and Loser: Given these contrasting experiences, it is clear which brand has earned my loyalty. The professionalism, transparency, and customer-centric approach of the Vindis Ducati team have left a lasting impression, ensuring I will return to them without hesitation. On the other hand, the deceptive and hostile practices of the LIND Harley Davidson dealership have guaranteed that I will not be doing business with them in the future. In conclusion, while Ducati has demonstrated how to get it right, Harley Davidson, through the actions of LIND in Newmarket, has shown exactly how to get it wrong. Customer service and integrity make all the difference, and it's clear which brand understands this fundamental principle.

Actually as of June 2024, all motorcycle sales have gone flat with loads of well priced bikes available used out there of all makes. People are keeping their money close to the chest as pretty much everyone is having a harder time making ends meet. A lot of people simply don't like Harley for a multitude of reasons....crude design, loud pipes, relatively poor quality and reliability, far too high prices both new and used, plus not everyone buys into the phoney "Harley lifestyle" which equates to dressing to look like something the cat dragged home. But to each his own.....

Interesting clip from the film, 'The Wild One', in which Marlon Brando was actually riding a Triumph, not a Harley. Triumph and more lately, Royal Enfield have eaten into Harley's market share in the US and worldwide. Harley dropped the Sportster, its 'entry-level' bike and went for the premium end of the market, so only rich people can afford to buy them. Rich, and older people. Harley-Davidson has become a last-chance saloon for the elderly biker who has a decent pension and wants to re-live their youth by wearing ridiculous and expensive Harley merchandise and riding around, very slowly, with some other old farts. (UK specific here!). They now make a three-wheeler! That trike reminds me of the HD Servi-Car of the sixties and seventies handing out parking tickets. Pretty much game over I reckon. My three (Millennial) sons wouldn't even consider a Harley. They ride Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield, AJS (1951), Honda and modern Triumph amongst others. Harley used to be the American bike for the American people. The HD company has abandoned its loyal customer base and just chased the money, the premium market. Stockbrokers, lawyers retired politicians et cetera. Harley settled on its perceived USP, the tourer/chopper thing, but that is now outdated and offers little choice of motorcycle. The only remaining vestige of the 'glory days' of Harley Davidson is the badge on the petrol tank. I hope Harley survive, but they need to get the youngsters onboard. Make somethng sporty and affordable! Come on HD, not rocket science! P.S. I have no idea why I have spent so long replying to a post which is so obviously generated by AI, but if there are any actual human beings out there who have read this nonsense of mine, Love and Peace.

They wanted $185-$225 a day just to rent one back in 2018 when I was in the market. I could have rented a Cadillac for less money. Most salesman won't get out of their chairs to help a customer. One told me that any and all information could be obtained by going online. After being treated like this at different dealers in different states, i gave up. This is a dealership and corporate issue. If you're not willing to pay the inflated fees and dealer mark up, the next fool walking into the place will. This is how Harley Davidson operates. The dealership down the street from me closed up. The parking lot was full of employees. Never any customers. They never advertised nor even had a going out of business sale. When i bought my Cadillac, it was less than some of Harley Davidson motorcycles were going for. Now you know why Harley is in so much trouble.....
