Unicorn Reviews

Welcome to Unicorn Reviews, a channel where I review electronics and hardware with a strong focus on computer parts.
Feel free to subscribe, it's free and my videos show up in your feed right away for that all important "FIRST!!" comment.

I have a "real" job and only make videos for fun. Please help to keep the channel fun. I don't do paid content, although some companies insist on posting a tracked/affiliate link. The couple of cents I earn on that will not influence my review.
From now on, I'll accept all review sample offers. Again, this is a hobby and I can do whatever I feel like :)

    Thats weird, I've set up my pedals using Simhub and have been really impressed with the haptic feedback - I certainly would not describe it as weak at all, in-fact I had to turn it down. I'm pretty fussy over my tactile setup with a setup of 6x larger transducers onm my motion rig, and this without doubt isn't weak, so really not sure how you've set it up... Are you using Sim Hub to control them?

  • @Heretik666
    @Heretik66621 сағат бұрын

    forgot to mention, you can even layer up FX on each pedal with the dedicated SimHub integration - from adding ABS, Gear shift, engine vibration and road texture - any Simhub effect you want - it really is far from a useless novelty add on - rather a USP and a good reason to buy them. I do recall trying them without using Simhub and remember it not giving much feedback, so this is the only thing I can think of, as it really is quite impressive. Being able to apply layers of different FX in precise amounts to each pedal is a really nice feature - it provides really useful feedback and immersion - my throttle provides slight engine vibration which increases with RPM as you depress, as well as road texture, wheel lock and jump landing FX which comes into its own for rallying on Finland stages for example. It's often easy to overload tactile so that everything becomes muddy, but this works well if you take time to layer the FX and be subtle with the levels and of course select a few relevant FX in the first place. But yeah - if you haven't tried it using the SimHub (you have to update the pedal's firmware to the latest to enable the integration), it really brings the pedals alive! :)

    bought mine a couple of months ago. They now individually bag the bolts and nuts with size and length info like you suggest. It went together really easily and no issues with metal shavings etc which I've seen on other 'budget' rigs. for the dust I got some rubber inserts that comes as a roll in different colours and pushes into place to fill the gaps. Also convenient for cable management as you can put thin cable along the channels and then cover over with the strip

    For anyone considering the Cammus C5 - Please do your homework. The product is cheap, but their service and support is terrible. My C5 has broken bearings after less than 1 week of use. Almost 1 month later and Cammus have been very difficult to deal with. Reddit is full of users with similar experiences - As I said - do you homework.

    I've just sent my Cammus C12 bundle back to the distributor. Absolute garbage The Cammus software doesn't recognize the base so the tunability of the wheel is none existent. With the LC100 the brake pedal wasn't recognized in AMS2 and either min or max and nothing in between in ACC. Purchase at your own risk.

    mounted these to my fanatec v3 pedals like 6 months ago works pretty well did not even need to 3d print anything used p2000 pedal adapters with some extra screws from home depot. looks like they updated graphics on them myn has no logos just all red/black. I have one on throttle too only useful thing you can do on it is slip which can help in certain situations but probably not worth the cost. Doesn't this 3D printer adapter consume a large portion of the haptics? These motors are really powerful. Besides, in the older version of SimHub, they only worked at half power, but in the current version, they are just as strong as in Simagic software. A few days ago, I uploaded a video on how to mount them on an original Simagic bracket, on other brands' pedals. I have a feeling that I will never run out of power with them, but maybe after many months, I will change my mind.

  • @UnicornReviews

    The adapter is pretty stiff and the forces are in line with the walls. I don't think they work as some sort of shock absorber.
