Hi you all beautiful souls!
Thank you for stopping by :)
I started meditating and diving in the spiritual world some years ago and that was the perfect time for me to really connect with myself and my truth.
Here I share with you the most honest and raw experiences I had during my path, which is always flowing and moving forward.
Hopefully my videos can help, inspire, motivate you to find your connection with the deepest part of yourself. And most important share Love.

What position do you all sleep in on the floor? Do you have to sleep on your back for it to work?
You joined a Movement with this bro 😂💪
So barefoot shoes to be worn only while hiking or garden? Or did u wear barefoot with flat foot even at your home? Also in office?
How many hours we can wear barefoot shoes with flat foot.
After two nights on the floor, I tossed out my bed and will determine what I need over time. Likely tatami w/ 3" futon. Since my kitty likes to sleep close to me, I will buy a queen size instead of twin size.
Wonderful !!! _The people who make fun of you actually thought there was a pandemic and they wore their assMASKs dutifully._
carpet floor or non carpet floor ?
I would probably go crazy because I just came back from schizophrenia after forcing myself to be back to the matrix. I went too deep into my mind that I saw reality as fluid and there was no anchor like I was just in a dream and it feels like I died. Maybe it only works for ordinary people and not for people who are by nature self-reflective.
Can I sleep on a couch? Cause I don’t have yoga couch
This is something i used to do for a night if i was having backaches and couldn't get comfortable on a bed and it would feel much better the next day. I have been doing it now every night for a couple weeks and haven't had any back pain at all and the best part is i used to notice when i shower that my chest/ribcage was at a crooked angle from my tummy, and they are now aligned straight. I thought this was scoliosis and i had no control over without seeing a doctor. Biggest issue for me is I'm mostly a side sleeper and very skinny so i do wake up with sore hips sometimes.
Had a long running lower back injury, herniated disc, realised my soft mattress was aggravating it hugely. I'm sleeping on a yoga mat with a quilt now and it's the only thing that keeps the pain manageable. I'm dreaming a lot more, for longer. There is something very grounding about it. It's like those weighted blankets for autistic people, except instead of the blanket weighing on me, it's my own weight pushing me into the hard floor. It is immensely relaxing, psychologically. I really do prefer to sleep on the floor now.
Are you still practicing?
I am a man 28 and when I lay on the floor my sholders and ass are on the floor but my lower back doesn't even touch. I have been sleeping on the floor for just over two weeks now, I am finding my lower back feels akey when I wake up in the morning. Any tips?
This man apparently did not do a good search on the Internet. On the contrary, there are thousands of positive comments about sleeping on the floor.
What do you exactly mean?
@@RobertoVolta You're only talking about negative comments about sleeping on the floor
@@kasperpaisa4245 did you even watch the video?!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart as you ve inspired me so much....I will be joining the Vipassana Meditation in June....I thank the Universe for this coming opportunity. 🙏🏼
That’s amazing!!! So happy to read such comment, may god bless you 🙏🏼 and good luck for the Vipassana!!
Thank you for a pleasant video. We have slept with our shikibuton for years on the floor but have never purchased a tatami mat. I am researching all the options. Can you share where you purchased yours? Also can you share which mattress you have? I am trying to find the healthiest option at an affordable price. Thanks again.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your story. Actually is kind of hard sharing it because my mum gifted it to me and she bought it in a shop in Lugano, Switzerland. Mattress you mean yoga mat or mattress to sleep on? Currently I am transitioning back to a floor tatami, the mattress I’m using is just a random one I’ve found in this apartment. Im sure tho, any mattress made of only natural fibers is the best for you. Unfortunately those come with a big price, and a tatami is not that much expensive considering it last a while! Hope it helps!!
Thank you Roberto, very interesting!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Wow thank you for sharing your story! It was so helpful to watch when deciding if I should serve at Vipassana or not. Also, I feel it's so beautiful how serving is like a living meditation. What a great place to practice bringing as much presence and love into your household chores as you do into your meditation <3
Thank you, it really amazing how connected is meditation and real life. :) Hope it will work out for you too!
Hope you make another video one day... They're full of positive energy :)
Thank you, some more content is coming soon!!
My dad, born in 1922, grew up on a farm and always said the most comfortable sleep he ever got was sleeping on the front porch floor in the summertime. Although he and my mom slept in a bed with a mattress, he often laid on the floor to nap and “rest his back.” I find lying on the floor restful as well.
I bet that's the case, I can only imagine, napping on a warm porch with summer breeze...
You're an idiot... please obstain from talking about Vipassana because you really know nothing about it! Very uninsightful and not serving the community... just another 20 something trying to get views. It's shameful, actually!
So glad Vipassana helped you so much.....& so glad you're saying so in this forum where one finds quite a few negative stories about Vipassana that have apparently been written by individuals who did not understand the workings of Dhamma- the Law of Nature within themselves. Vipassana enabled me to extricate myself from a number of unhealthy habits, including around eighteen years of serious addictions to various kinds of substances that included hard drugs which completely ruined my health, both physical & mental. Continued practice has also helped me deal with the causative factors such as the intense trauma I had to endure for most of my life. May many more get liberated from the bondages that keep us shackled & prevent us from enjoying a peaceful, joyful life!!! 🙏🤍🙏
Are you still sleeping on the floor @robertovolta?
Hi, Pania, I am currently restarting sleeping on the floor. I took a long break because my fiancé and I slept on a bed. She's currently transitioning, so soon again on the floor. :)
I started to sleep as well, It has been one week so far😆
I got a puzzle mat and I sleep on that, it was way cheaper than a tatami
Amazing 😍
Thanks 🤗
I have watched a number of Vipassana retreat testimonials and yours is by far the most positive and energetic and encouraging. Thank you for that. May you continue to practice daily both in sitting meditation as well as in your daily activities.
Wonderful! Thank you!! I try to motivate people in doing it because it was so beneficial for me
You're the first person I've ever heard say what I know about sleeping on the floor, but only 30 days?
I did it for 30 days and recorded the video, I then continued doing so for a while. Then went back to a normal matress, and now transitioning back to the floor.
@@RobertoVolta I did it for the better part of 15 years, I only stopped when I got into relationships where my partner would not have it..but thank you for your work with your videos, they truly are helpful and inspiring for me.
Forcing people to meditate that long is brainwashing, this makes Vipassana a cult. if you are desperate, go for it, even better is to stay grounded and enjoy ( shorter ) mediation retreats where you can socialize with others and have a healthy exchange of ideas and philosophies accompanied by men and women.
Hi Ron, I don't disagree with you in the fact of joining shorter retreats, but you are getting wrong the point of the Vipassana retreat. First, no one is forcing you to go, this already doesn't make it a cult. Second, it's a commitment, 10 days in silence meditating really force you to go within, all you see is the parts of yourself, there's no cult leader, but you and what's within you. It's kind of wrong saying that it's not good for you as this is exactly what we need as society, which is quieting the mind and going within. If you join a shorter retreat where you exchange philosophies it's just a different thing, focus and point. You can also leave whenever you want. Maybe I would invite you to watch the video again because it seems like you missed the point.
I grew up sleeping on the floor on something made of a plant fiber we called petate. So, now as an adult with several back issues, I have started doing it again on a yoga mat. It was hard at the beginning, specially because I am skinny and my hip bones pressure was bad. Like you I started slowly and now I am again tolerating and even enjoying like when I was a child and no having a bed like most people was not a concern.
Amazing. Thank you for sharing your story Nora!!
Bravo❣ My husband and I (in our 80's) got rid of our mattress and are sleeping on the wood platform we built. Plus.....think of all the toxic materials in our mattresses that we are now avoiding!!!
Oh wow! That's impressive!! Kudos to you! Agree, I don't really trust any of that junk we sleep on.
I’m on night 4 or 5. I feel great when I wake up, dreaming heavy throughout the night, and less back pain.
Amazing!! How do you feel now?
I love sleeping on the floor on thin mat, it has changed my life. I feel more motivated to keep my house clean. I feel more grateful and humble on the floor. When I was on a bed frame it made me egotistical lazy and i would not clean my floor for days. interesting right haha
Love that! That's exactly what I mean!!
Roberto, you are so cute! I am going to try this and I am excited and who cares what other people think. Do what you want!❤
Have fun! Thank you, I hope it's good for you too!
Hai poi provato?
I started to sleep on the floor about 1-2 weeks ago, and the first night I slept on the floor I didn't even have a bad night. I woke up maybe once or twice, but most of the night I was fully asleep. A week later, it feels amazing! I feel better in the morning, and I get MUCH better sleep at night. My other family members think I'm crazy lol, but it is amazing! I actually had some sleep troubles before I started to sleep on the floor, as I was sleeping I just wasn't getting into a deep sleep, and woke up very tired in the mornings. Now I feel refreshed in the mornings! Praise the Lord for using these KZread videos to show me to sleep on the floor to fix my problem!! Take care everybody!!!
🙏
That's amazing!! I am so glad it worked out for you too :D
You will always fall asleep faster because of the grounding affects
Totally agree!
Last year I got rid of my traditional bed and started sleeping in a hammock or on the floor. Right now I am sleeping on the floor to change things up. And I love sleeping on the leewadee mat. Thank you for putting up this video. It is encouraging to know that others enjoy sleeping this way as well!
Thank you for sharing your story!!
Never run on concrete in any shoe and go slow it takes a couple years for feet soles to toughen up
Absolutely!!
Thanks for the video. I'm curious if it comes down to body type if this works or not. Personally I've tested it out a few nights and I like it. I use a carpet + double yoga mat and that's fine. My body is a bit more curved than yours and as such I find it hard to lay in an optimal way and I'm curious if that's where body type makes a big difference. I'm also still searching for a good pillow solution as my normal pillow is too low to make this work.
Hey! Thank you for your comment, yeah I believe body types play a big role in adapting and in the pain you feel. But I am sure as other people commented that after a while your body just get used to it! How’s it going??
Sleeping on the floor gradually fixes ANY misalignment of the spine. Whether its overcurvature or loss of curvature. Im confident our bodies were always meant to sleep on the floor and mattresses are just for business
This is it! Couldn’t say it with better wording
I do this after I couple of nights of terrible sleep on my mattress. I would wake up sweating and realized the mattress was trapping my body heat. Now I sleep on the floor and not only do I not have a heat problem anymore, my quality of sleep is much better on the floor and I feel no soreness when I wake up.
This is it!
I am thinking of selling my bed and start sleeping on a futon on the floor, don't know how thick it should be doe.
Great!! Did you end up selling your bed?
I’ve been sleeping on a Tatami mat for a couple of years, and I absolutely love it! I find it encouraging and inspirational to find others who share in this thing called floor sleeping. 😊
Are you a side sleeper or back sleeper ? Cause can't find any people sharing their experiences with their side sleeping ... which i am
@@CosmicMindSense Hi! I’m primarily a side-sleeper and stomach-sleeper; I find it very difficult to sleep on my back. I have a long body pillow which I have found to be useful and comfortable when sleeping on my side. I don’t use every time I sleep on my side, but it’s always next to me within reach throughout the night.
@@101Catarina Yea a body pillow should a great idea and it is..! ... thanks !
@@CosmicMindSense I hope it helps!
That’s amazing! Are you still sleeping on the floor?
You know what fuck it im trying it tonight . Ive read loads of "i love it " coments and im curious
Hey! How did it go??
really great, thank you for this. Signing up now :)
Amazing! How was your 10-day?
Excellant! I am going to try this! Thank you!!
Amazing! How did it go?
Im doing my second on in a few weeks & watching everyones content on it. Planning on posting something myself. It was also a life changing experience for myself hence why I want to go back! :)
That’s great to hear! You can also check out serving if you want, I have just posted a video about it :)
Be happy 😊

I appreciate the yoga perspective. I'm a man in my 50s whose been biking and doing yoga for 30 years. My knees had gone creaky, and I started using a pedal-assist bike and two stacked mats. Decided to stop biking (one reason, it's not good for posture) for a while and see what effects more walking would have. At the same time I noticed a bunion developing and in doing research for treatment stumbled upon barefoot shoes. I bought a pair and it was transformative. Despite walking 10k/day on concrete and asphalt, I had no more knee pain, and my walking posture is as good as my best tadasana. One thing that's great about yoga is that it's an activity one can improve at no matter one's age. I'm excited about what wearing barefoot shoes will do for my practice.
Thanks for sharing. I'm going yo attend the course in 2 weeks in South Australia.
Fantastic!! How did it go??
I sleep on the floor and am always ready to go, when get up, feel tremendously than when I used to sleep in the mattress
Fantastic!! Are you still sleeping on the floor??
Sadhu.......Sadhu........Sadhu..........
