    We sent him to "camel school" in Georgia & realized that he wasn't happy at my farm because he didn't have a job. We sold him to the fellow that ran the camel school, "Pettit Farm" & found out a few months later that he was sold to a movie production company in Pa. So that must be Sight & Sound! Thank you for letting us know of his whereabouts!

    This is an awful birth experience! My Gosh! I want to rip that lady out of that place...goat needs to breathe???!!!! You don't know a thing about birthing. God created this process to work perfectly. Lungs don't contract til supposed to. LEAVE THE POOR GOAT ALONE - and learn something before you go trying to intervene! NO, don't get your hand in there! You are not sanitized and the straw definitely isn't....besides the fact that you have LONG fingernails and a freaking diamond on! I can't believe the momma survived your interventions - you are yanking on her when she isn't even contracting. What a stressful birth. Watch some NATURAL ones and leave the poor things alone. She was doing just fine. Yes, the scream and/or grunt, etc - that is perfectly normal - don't you know a thing?! She could have had a beautiful experience and you ruined it. Why do people think they have to be "in control" of everything - let the mother deliver her baby!

    Thank you so much for posting this. I just found out today that my 9 month old Pygmy/ND mix is pregnant, and have no kidding experience whatsoever. I am scared to death that she will have birthing issues, and your video has made me feel more confident now that I have witnessed a pygmy of the same age delivering, and also witnessed what 'going in' might entail. Thank you

    There may be a pregnancy in my goat, as I was told sexual maturity date was 1year old by the previous owner, the however, left out that 2 months old she can get pregnant. My now 4month old Pygmy doe has been living with my now 5 month Nigerian buck for the past month, I noticed mounting behavior for the first time, yesterday, and though "let them have their fun", until I was educated that she could be pregnant... so my girl would be 9 months old in birth, what are the chances of her surviving this? I am already moving my buck to my uncles farm, but need to know are there any signs of pregnancy, and what is the chance of her surviving?

  • @mayann8499
    @mayann84998 жыл бұрын

    +Rachel Stakes If she has not come back into heat she is most likely pregnant, but the only rock solid way to tell after that is to find a vet who works with goats and see if you can get an ultrasound. I would most certainly find a vet who works with goats anyways just for the fact that pygmy goats tend to have complicated births so if she is pregnant a C section maybe needed at time of delivery. I would also feed very little grain and better yet none at all especially in the last month of pregnancy because grain promotes growth of the baby/s. Good Luck I hope everything works out.

    You did it all wrong you should not intervene with the pregnancy. And when it baby is born you supposed to let the mum lip him/her so they can make a close bond with each other !!!

  • @calebmoore1337
    @calebmoore13379 жыл бұрын

    Do you have goats? Because if you did you would know that you can intervene if needed. When complications began to occur you can lightly reach in and give extra assistance. And the mom can lick but sometimes first time fresheners don't lick good enough so it's okay to dry the kid off. Lastly they bond over the next 24 hours of isolation and then for the next week as they spend everyday together. So please don't act like you know what your talking about

  • @carolcoates3750
    @carolcoates37507 жыл бұрын

    I had a herd of 20 milkers, so attended many kiddings. The two front feet must emerge at the same time as the nose. In this case with front legs back, you have to go in and ease them forward, which she did (albeit clumsily). If this isn't done, the kid is stuck by its shoulders & no amount of pushing or pulling can rectify it. Please get your facts right before giving advice about a subject you know nothing about.

    Might sound stupid but when just her head was out, and she had a clear nose could the air actually get to her lungs? Or was she suffocating for some time? Also, well done :)

  • @drinkerofteas
    @drinkerofteas8 жыл бұрын

    Kind of...but you don't want that to happen. While they're still in the embryonic sac the lungs aren't working, so the baby is still getting plenty of oxygen through the umbilicus. If you tear away the membranes, sometimes the lamb/kid will take a breath. But as you surmised, they can't get enough to oxygenate their bodies in that situation, and they can suffocate.

    I don't think you have the right idea of clicker training. There is no forcing or striking involved. This animal is not learning anything. I've seen kush training being done with absolutely no force, not even a halter, and only a clicker and treats.
