Biblical history does repeat. Both Jewish Temples were destroyed on the same date, the 9th day of the month of Av. I would not be shocked if the third temple, yet to be rebuilt, is destroyed on July 31-Aug 1. In fact, I expect the same peoples will destroy that temple. The Assyrians (Mesopotamia/Asia Minor/modern Turkey) destroyed Soloman's Temple. The Roman legions were, according to historians, made up of mercenaries from the surrounding nations. It was the Romans who attacked Jerusalem, but the mercenaries destroyed the Temple, in defiance of the orders to preserve it for the gold. The final leader of the final Beast empire is called, "The Assyrian." The nations listed in the Bible as being part of the last Beast are all Muslim controlled lands today. History repeating?

I love your enthusiasm for the word of God and Biblical prophecy Stephen! I think there are some really compelling parts of these theories and either way we look forward to God's FULL glory being revealed. Be blessed my friend and continue to investigate!

I absolutely love this as well. I travel all over the country for work, and this allows me to listen AGAIN, and get to pull more out. My mind waunders at times when pastor drops something good on Sunday and sends my brain down a rabbit hole. This is a treasure for me! Thank you!!

“Tongues of angels” is frequently used as a vehicle to posit ‘angelic speech’. That entire phrase, as well as a few others in that particular part of Paul’s letter, is 100% pure textbook hyperbole no matter how one wishes to slice and dice it. There’s just no getting around that. No English grammarian in the world is going to call it anything but. In all instances of angels speaking, it has always been in a real, rational language. In fact, in traditional Jewish belief, angels can only speak and understand one language; specifically, the sacred language of the Jewish faith, Hebrew. Paul, being a Jew, would have known this, which lends further support for his intentional use of hyperbole. There is absolutely nothing mysterious about Biblical "tongues" - and there is only one type - when referring to something spoken, they are nothing more than real, rational language(s); usually unknown to those listening to them, but always known by the speaker(s) - it’s their native language (in some cases, it is a language the speaker has learned). In contrast, the “tongues” Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians are producing today is an entirely self-created phenomenon. It is non-cognitive non-language utterance; random free vocalization based upon a subset of the existing underlying sounds (called phonemes) of the speaker’s native language, and any other language(s) the speaker may be familiar with or have had contact with. It is, in part, typically characterized by repetitive syllables, plays on sound patterns, alliteration, assonance, and over-simplification of syllable structure. It is also interesting to note that any disallowed sound combinations, i.e. consonant clusters, in the speaker’s native language are also disallowed in his/her tongues-speech. Further, this subset of phonemes typically contains only those sounds which are easiest to produce physiologically. There is absolutely _nothing_ that “tongues-speakers” are producing that cannot be explained in relatively simple linguistic terms. Conversely, when it comes to something spoken, there are absolutely _no_ Biblical references to “tongues” that do not refer to, and cannot be explained in light of, real rational language(s), though it may not be the explanation you want to hear, and it may be one which is radically different from what you believe, or were taught. _Nowhere in the Bible is modern tongues-speech advocated or evidenced._ “Praying in the Spirit” does _not_ refer to the words one is saying. Rather, it refers to how one is praying. In the three places it is used (Corinthians, Ephesians, and Jude), there is absolutely zero reference to 'languages' in connection with this phrase. “Praying in the Spirit” should be understood as praying in the power of the Spirit, by the leading of the Spirit, and according to His will.

Hey Kavik, I once had the opinion you do too. When I started studying scripture, I found some scholarship with good answers to some of your opinions of interpretation you listed there. Glad you love the Lord and pursue Him. We don't do the comment section debate/argument stuff since it's ineffective. For those thinking through this issue further, I encourage you to consider this conversation: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q3qtuJRphsiec8o.html
