so the plan is, "just pray they don't know that you play d5 vs this"? I really don't like this kinda hope chess. This gets you against Grünfeld with a very poor line for white. Does a London player want to go into a Grünfeld against a Grünfeld player? That sounds like suicide to me and you def don't get to play any London ideas vs the Grünfeld. Playing the Grünfeld against a d4 Bf4 Nc3 setup is like a wet dream for a Grünfeld player that they would never get to experience normally. And the London player will be absolutely obliterated if they don't understand the intricacies of Grünfeld.

As someone who plays in the 1100 range, I like to do what magnus did when he played the london and trade out the light colored bishop so as to activate my queen, instead of transposing into the queens gambit with c4. Is there a pitfall to this idea that I'm not aware of ?

If black goes bishop f5 and white goes queen f3, would it make sense to go pawn g6 and prepare to fianchetto the black bishop while also protecting the white bishop? That was my first thought. Anybody can answer. I'm only 900 and been playing for a few months rated so would like input from anyone more experienced than me

At 3:37 instead of moving queen they can take your knight by their knignt and attack your bishop if you take their knight .

Please don't forget to mention when the opening is hypermodern, abd thus, different priniciples apply to it. I wasted months as a beginner just because I started with Pirc and didn't know hypermodern openings are a totally different thing than classical ones
