Landing the lunar module on the moon and taking off and reconnecting to the orbiting rocket would have been extremely diffiucult.

Seems like every Discovery channel show. And if you pause the credits, there are hidden jokes too. Like the narrator being Mr. Voysover; or the names of the researchers, etc. Funny enough, the framerate got so weird that the lines of text are messed up and shown twice with a slight vertical offset, and this offset is exactly that the lesser S becomes §, which is "satisfactory" in its own way

I always try to imagine what the Russian version of this would be like. "Comrades, I have bad news! We've lost the space race! The Americans have beat us to the moon! We're going to have to shut down our space program!" "Wait, why do we have to shut it down? Can't we just go to the moon as well?" "It doesn't matter! They got there first! So it's completely pointless now!" "But that's just a giant waste of money and time! Besides, our technology is way more advanced! We can do it better! In fact, I heard a rumour that the Americans were so behind us on their space technology that they've actually faked it. So doesn't it make sense that we should go to the moon and potentially prove that NASA are a bunch of liars, ultimately humiliating our enemies in the process?" "Well, we could do that! But.... that'd just be.... mean!"

Lol, but the conspiracy was never that nasa never went into space. The ct, is that america was losing the space race, and no one could work out how to actually get to the moon due to the distance, radiation effects etc, but they were worried that russia did know. So they faked the moon landing in order to save face and give a show of advanced technology to the world. I dont think any person who believes nasa never went to the moon, doubts that a rocket capable of going into the upper atmosphere was created. But theres a huge difference in nasas knowledge of doing that ,compared to travelling all the way to the moon in a small rocket.

It's always been so comical that people think the moon landing was faked considering we've done so many more impressive accomplishments. The irony of people using computers and technology that was advanced mostly because of the Apollo program to comment on how it was faked is a special kind of willful ignorance. I stems from such a level of insecure Dunning Krueger effect that its sad.

I was an intel analyst with the us army and held a ts clearance for 9 years. pretty much every conspiracy is total hogwash because it requires too many complicit, normal people to be quiet when they could get fortune and fame with the right deal. The Soviets were tracking the moon mission just like we were and if it had been faked they would have called us out. Also, with the right telescope you can see the crap we left up there. Conspiracy theories are total crap shoe-horned into whatever belief people are too lazy to change just to avoid admitting they're wrong.

  • @photostudio5861

Moon landing deniers believe that the Soviets were in on it, that the cold war was fabricated and a lot of them don’t believe that nuclear weapons are a real thing. That’s the problem with being a conspiracy theorists, you usually end up having to support an infinite number of other conspiracy theories.
