    I truly believe that Doug Allen and Bill Mastro stole Lionel's cards. They are absolutely disgusting people who are now known as convicted frauds.

    Great video man! I actually saw a T206 O’Hara STL at my regional show in May. Couldnt believe it. SO wouldve pulled the trigger if I wasnt gunning for the green background T206 Cobb in Cleveland!

    Probably the most iconic set in the hobby. The colors and presentation are fantastic! Totally agree, eye appeal trumps the technical grade. And yes, I can’t stand creases! The backs mean nothing to me, I am perfectly happy with all Piedmonts (available at much lower prices compared to some of the scarce-rare backs). I display the front of my cards, not the backs. :) Really good video, thanks much.

    You own almost every Barry Larkin card in existence, I may have some you don't have...i bought a collection of just 90's inserts and some crazy ones in it...

    Excellent looking UZIT! Looks better than 1.5. I think PSA has a lower pop than Drum but they are close. Awesome pick up.

    Subscribed. Just got back into the hobby since the 90s. My God, these cards have gone up so much. I have a E96 Mordecai Brown I bought in 1998 for 100 bucks. Dean's on ebay wants 2,000 for one. 😮Great video

  • @DeadGuyCardboard
    @DeadGuyCardboard3 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the sub! Yeah Pre-War card prices have risen the last few years, although Dean's cards aren't a true indicator for value. He tends to ask 2-3x what a card is worth.

    These lists shouldn't be the lowest print run or most costly. An excel spreadsheet can rank the lowest print runs and requires no thought. There's plenty of cards with higher print runs that are more aesthetically pleasing than crap like Circa Thunder Rave Reviews or Fleer Tradition Starting Nine. Hell, I'll take 1999 Upper Deck Ovation and HoloGrFX BASE CARDS over those.

    That is a gorgeous Lajoie! and your other is also very nice . I want to thank you as I have been looking for a big card to add to my collection as I got a nice gift from my wife for my birthday and I forgot how much I liked the T206 portrait Lajoie until I saw your two beauties. I have a pretty big collection but was having trouble getting excited about any possible buys. Thanks for the help.

    Fantastic pickups. Man the new essential is insane. I’ll NEVER get the Maddux. It’s /3 Haha. Believe it or not, I like the 99 EC’s. The silver ones way more than gold I like how the swoop matches team color

    That's a dream pickup, congrats man. I don't think it gets better than that. I'd consider the '98 now to be his best non 1/1 and maybe the best overall Larkin period. Meanwhile, I'll keep dreaming for mine... - RiceBondsMntna2Young

    Great video, Ben. Not sure you have seen this one but check out the '56 Topps Dave Pope. He is depicted catching a ball up against the right field wall. In fact, this was an attempted catch of the walk off home run hit by Dusty Rhodes in G1 of the '54 Series. Just subscribed. Looking forward to following you now.

    Very interesting information. I really like the Ruth card with the carrier pigeon. You are right about the Hubbs/Ellsworth card being dark. The odd thing is that Ellsworth was a pitcher, and the card shows him in an infielder's pose. // One of my favorite cards like that is the 1970 Jim Fregosi card. There is a pickup truck behind Fregosi on that card. From what I read, that truck was Fregosi's, and he would not let the photographer take his picture unless the truck was in the photo. Not sure if it is true, but it's still a good story. // I enjoyed your video.

    These were some wild cards! Interesting to see how the story of a photo changes depending on how you crop it! Crazy to think that pigeons were still being used in the 20's! Super interesting video, thanks for sharing!
