    Sir! This is shockingly good work, stunning quality. Its been at least a decade since ive seen a builder put such care into a home. The layers of caulk so such attention to detail! Anyway: i am trying to figure out how to manipulate sheet so i can build caps for some exposed decorative 2x12 beams that are 30’ long. What tools do you recommend for long straight cuts and 90 degree bends?

    Hey Alex, Bryan Flemming in southern mn. I bought a brake from you and its an amazing tool. Your roof looks great! I myself also hate having exposed fasteners. Since we use steel trim coil for all our wraps i have found that small yet very strong magnets are great while my caulking sets up. I know most guys use aluminum but if you are ever triming something in steel and cant get a miter to lay right or just need something to stay until the caulk sets up. Magnets are a great trick to have in your back pocket to make things lay perfect.

    What changes were made to the version 2 of the brake?

  • @innovatoolsinc
    @innovatoolsinc5 ай бұрын

    the main thing would be; much easier assembly (basically one model of connector and 1 model of bolt throughout), we were also able to make it a little more compact (1'' lower on the height and 1.5'' narrower on the depth for the same capacity). We also modified the back rail and front rail to be able to rest it on saw horses easier. Same great features just some slight improvements because of our new manufacturing equipment we had to redesign some of the parts so decided to simplify a little bit of everything!

    Using your whole system. The material stopper, the slitter, the measure sticks….. i can do flat stock with knife and your measure sticks… but curious how you would make 1 1/2” flat stock using the slitter on a pro 14 brake with slitter.

  • @innovatoolsinc
    @innovatoolsinc5 ай бұрын

    @@aluminumtrim do you do 1.5" wide often? Seems very narrow of a piece to start with? The stopper wont go down to 1.5" so i would probably use the stoppers to rip down to 12" then into 6in and then 3" and then slice the 3inches into the (2) 1.5" using the magnetic measuring tools? That what i think would be the most efficient? Once you have the (2) 12s in the beginning double stack them to cut 2 thick at a time? Let me know if that makes sense?

  • @aluminumtrim
    @aluminumtrim5 ай бұрын

    Makes sense to me… but yeah, i have to make 1” to 1 1/2” flat stock often and was trying to wrap my brain how i could achieve it with the slitter efficiently. Would be fast af. Just the measure gauges get in way of slitter… i wonder if i could improvise a peace on the stopper to go back farther into the anvil of the brake to catch at a 1 1/2….

  • @innovatoolsinc

    It goes flat in storage mode (need to remove the arm pins) but the whole point of our brake and accessories is to NOT have to do any premarking before bending, you shouldnt need to do any marking with our system saving that whole unecessary step!

  • @aluminumtrim

    @@innovatoolsinc when bending a simple door header one or simple piece of trim, its simplier to just make my marks than to use stopper and gauges…. Hence my need for the top of the brake to be flat. That’s how i use the pro 14 and i have your system on it. Just no need to use for one or two pieces of trim. But very handy for larger trim work. Just wish i could lay the top of your brake flat. Coil would lay flat up there even better than the pro 14. Just habits of the trade and will always be of use for my line of work. Before the measuring guages and when i was premarking i would simply set the sheet in the hinge pocket and rest it against the closing handle that way the sheet was about 45deg angle making it much easier to mark in my opinion as opposed to leaning over a flat piece no?

  • @aluminumtrim

    Just a piece of friendly advice. Don't ever run your knife all the way through the length of the piece you are bending when cutting off to finish. Those blade slices/cuts in the actual brake parts will get you fired, cost you quite a bit to repair, or will scratch the material. Not very smart for any of those things to happen. Your bottom dollar, and quality of work/pride, will definitely suffer. And definitely not efficient by any means. Completely opposite of being efficient if you're damaging equipment and/or product being installed. Well over 10 yrs. as the ground man/sole metal brake man. Senior installer with over 20 yrs. in the siding/replacement window sector of home remodeling. Traveled multiple states. Good morning Kevin! Thank you for your comment, i would beg to differ; if you take the time to swap your knife around at every cut to prevent cutting past the material you're adding 3 secs to every cut. If you're making on average 150 cuts per day that 450sec(7.5mins) per day that is spent swapping your knife around. This equals to 37.5mins a week or 1875mins (31hours) per year. It would take me roughly 4 to 5 years to chew through a hinge but in that time frame i would have saved over 120-150hours which increased my production by 120-150hours. It was much more productive/efficient/profitable to wear out a brake and make an extra 120hours of installation and every 4-5years id buy myself a brand new brake as well, (or just change the hinge for 1000$ depending on the rest of the brake). The beauty with our innovatools brake is that the hinge design has clearance past the stainless edge so you wont damage the hinge dragging it across unlike on other brands 😉
