How appropriate that the Decca Studios photo shown here includes the six adjacent terraced properties, as Decca also owned these. Decca used the shop-level units for post production and rented out the flats above to employees. My dad was a Decca recording engineer and I grew up there. And like Gerry Anderson, Dick and his childen, I too went to Kngsgate Infants! A great talk: thanks for uploading.

It was great to see the images. My great grandparents were among the initial tenants of St Mary's Flats in 1930 (relocated from slum housing in Bridgewater Street), and ended up in St Anthony's Flats. It's nice to think that they experienced the original artworks: let's hope they did indeed bring joy to their lives.
