Hmmm... Seems like you should be telling us a bit more about yourself, are you a Greek raised in Ireland, doing this flip as an investment, Air B&B or to start a remodel business in Greece? I see you doing some fairly bizarre things here if this is supposed to be a house for resale, why are you inserting so much of your own personal taste into it? That doesn't leave much room for the buyers tastes now does it? You put in all these immovable benches, beds that can't be altered to a different position, and the kitchen (in the dark, without a view or window... you don't cook or wash dishes do you?) right in front of a bathroom, which could have been the position of a lovely view wall for a kitchen by placing the bathroom to the back of the house... aren't the views what people come to Greece for as well as the sea and food? And why these inserted sockets that will collect dust or someone will spill a drink and short out the entire house... and where will all the excess of the cords go if all the furniture is built in, you can't hide those cords anywhere! I'll follow, but frankly I'm a bit disappointed with your choices so far... it's such a lovely building, a shame if you end up making it all weirdly modern. Perhaps you should show your personal house so we know what we're in for? 🧐

I do hope the local council gets the road repaired. It took almost seven years to get our roadway paved. Every winter the light gravel would wash out leaving sharp stones sticking out everywhere. I finally got to the point after asking for years that I was going to bring my military HUMMV from the states, keep my plates on it as well as the military plate on it, not pay any road tax or import fees on it. I went through three sets of tires on my car in those seven years plus no taxi would come up to the property in the winter when we needed one, they did not want to ruin their tires or suspension. It seems they never have money to do any improvements here.
@stonebystone15 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear about the bad experience in your area. We’ve seen quite a lot of improvements to the road systems in Crete over the last few years, but mostly the larger roads are prioritised. We’ve had a very productive and open dialogue with the council here, so I have full confidence in their plans for our road.

The geckos are harmless. As a matter of fact they tend to eat various insects that may have trespassed into the home. Well I see that the previous owners had real cabinets installed. I have slowly been remodeling a couple of very old apartments I have where the facade and counter were the cabinets. I always take the time to get cheap leftover or second grade tile to line the back of the wall if that wall is against an exterior wall. I learned the hard way that if there is moisture leaking through the wall it will cause mound within the cabinets and will render them useless. Taking into consideration where the counter top will be I will install the premium tiles about five centimeters below the countertop against the wall and then install cabinets and counters. The way most builders do a kitchen is to slam cabinets against an outside wall. Add the counter top and then tile the wall up to where the upper cabinets begin. Now if one was ever to replace the cabinets for any reason, tiles an all must come out to remove the counter and cabinets. Waste of time and money if one likes the tiles in use. I always install a decent bead of silicone along the back of the counter top before installing the counter. Seals against moisture getting behind the counter. That is an interesting stone flower pot in the wall by the one entrance, I like accents like this.
