Seeing the world through a lens of good and evil, right and wrong, can be a limiting perspective for sure Claire Angel. I even heard in a dream once not to think in such terms, rather of ethical dominion; however, I do think that when one has a vision it can be an extremely powerful force in the universe. You had that vision, and that's what made you do what you've done to create your artistic and beautiful life. Sometimes, we do not have free will, and it is good, and sometimes, different is not good. The destination and the journey are both important ❤ i still like your message, though. Funny how you can be struggling with something for ages, really thinking about it and working on it, but you say it's a slow process it will take time. Then, after much time as you draw near possible resolution, you stumble across someone who has already done just that with the same issue. How he portrays resistance, the muse, external realm of source like intelligence that we draw from, it all clicks things into focus so we can know what they are and how to approach them. It solidifies them as things that are understood, and no longer these murky abstract mysteries that we are helpless against because we can't even see them. It's much like paving the path to move forward.

this is subjective i think.... if your called to write music and your heart is to be in a band, its something bigger than yourself which in Steves case is just writing books. he doesn't need anyone. I on the other hand need others to be involved to make my creative work happen. its bigger than myself. Today this is pretty much impossible unless you have a lot of cheese and even then you are buying your musicians instead of being for love like it used to be.... what about a chef who loves to cook but no one wants to eat their food... then what? i dont think this approach is a one size fits all

I get that she tried to look on the bright side but it is tragic that she died so young. She was only a year older than me. She seemed like a genuinely nice person to hang out with. I do not say that about lightly. She reminds me of someone that I attended Great Ormond Street Hospital with. It is always the good ones who die young.

I think "tried to look on the bright side" undermines what this woman achieved. First of all, it wasn't a failed attempt, she succeeded. She succeeded in being the beam of positivity she was. Her small chuckles and morbid humour wasn't something I think many can easily fake. She didn't only "try" to look on the bright side, she became and was the bright side.

I found a KZread vid called "how an artist turns pro" around the same time I fell in love with slacklining. I had a very clear vision for my creation and knew it would take a certain amount of time and effort to get there. I would struggle with resistance but eventually after 4+ years I had the abilities and courage to create the project I saw in my head. At the time, I saw all my life's success connected to the outcome of my vision, certain that my creation will open doors for me. After making the video I was utterly disappointed with the finished product, scrutinizing it as masturbatory and self indulgent. But I faced my biggest fear of making a dream come true, regardless of the final product. Since then I have fallen deeply in love with parkour and see very clearly my dreams of creation through it. This reminds me of the end of the "how an artist turns pro" video which ends with me saying "I beat you mother fucker" to resistance as I begin my next creative endeavor after having finished the last. Thank you for your guidance Steven!

There have been studies conducted with subjects who were asked to complete a series of tasks in a laboratory environment, for which they can easily be trained, but which require attention to detail. The experimental group is given lab coats to wear, a mark of professionalism. The control group wears their street clothes, and performs well on the whole, but with a far higher proportion of errors in their output. There are reasons certain professions have a uniform, that extend beyond simplifying, in some cases, or complicating, in others, visual recognition. I’m not suggesting that playing dress-up is always needed, or advisable, but it’s a good reminder of the value that can be found in a ritual that helps you focus on the part of your life that you are engaging with in the moment.
