Speed booster still working well?
No image test with and without speed booster renders this video useless.
I got a pack of these for free when I ordered a universal lens cap on amazon.
Somehow this is the only video on KZread for Meike speedbooster review for Rf series. Is it possible to make some more tests for photo and video. I have r10 and ef-s lenses but planing to buy 24-105 f4 or 24-70 f2.8 and if there is no problem with video (autofocus and is ), 24-105 will be awesome with speedbooster. Thank you
Did you noticed any optical issue or is it good in that point?
@@joaovtaveira I have not noticed any optical issues.
@@1KINDPhotography that is great news, thanks.
Is it safe if food is exposed to the smoke?
@@ulaskuy it would depend on what fog liquid you are using. LENSGO uses Vegetable Glycerine & Propylene Glycol. You can contact the manufacturer for a clearer answer.
How is it in portrait mode? I hear complaints about it but I don't see much alternative. The R7 gets damaged to easily and now I need to replace mine with this. Not sure if I'll like how it sticks out so much. 🤷
you don't address this...does the screen flip in ok? I've heard that adding the shield prevents the screen from being able to go back in reverse to protect the screen.
@@nighthawk20011 yes, screen flips in ok and does not protrude that blocks it from closing. There's already a gap between screen and camera body
Thanks! Just what I was looking for
Thank you. This was a great demonstration. Sady it showed me that I don't want to buy one as I don't want to disassemble it every time I need to change the battery.
I didnt get one with the eye screen. I got the ef eye cup, does it come with it?
Carry Speed is a pile of garbage! Get yourself a dedicated Arca-Swiss (or universal) plate from Really Right Stuff or Kirk Enterprises that have a built-in QD port and a MagPul MS4 sling. Never look back.
Very poor in how you presented dark and disjointed.
Never seen such a in depth review, Thx. Already had the Canon version.
Dude, whythere isn't a resolution test in this review, i want to know about picture quality
Will it work on the r7
Yes
@@1KINDPhotographyI’m having a hard time finding one
Hello. I want to see a test with AF in both photo and video mode. from the test presented above there is nothing relevant. thank you
I’ve watched 3 videos & yours is by far “the best explanation “. Thanks!!
Watching this in 2024 - Found my camera strap in storage from 2015 and needed to know how to attach it to my 5DIV
Hi! Did you experienced any issue with the stabilization? The Viltrox speedbooster has a problem with estabilization, this one hasn't?
Did not notice any issues with stabilization during testing.
Tested it with my Canon EOS R7 - which has Ibis - and it wasn't stable...
@@andydlamini I have a R7 too and this is what I was thinking. Some users said about this problem with ibis and this the reason I will not buy anymore
@@jadersuriano the trick is to use manual lenses with no IS. I purchased a viltrox ef-Eos r pro mount adaptor and a manual lens and the Ibis works just fine - with minor wobble - but the Ibis wasn't behaving when I tested with the meike speed booster for video 😢
@@andydlamini It's not a big deal for me buy an adapter and don't use with a autofocus lens. I prefer the Meike EF RF adapter with nd filter, autofocus works great and no problem with ibis.
Do you still sell these? The link in bio doesn’t work
I am not the manufacturer. eBay has them. Click the link in description. If you want this exact one, add "peipro" to the search. It all comes from China.
Glad this video was still here. I left my strap in Laos last year since I can't find it here at the house in the states. Bought another strap new/used on eBay with no instructions lol 😂😅
Thank you for making this video. I needed to know what the custom thumb ring was for 🙂
My ef-s 10-18mm doesn't seem to mount on the speed booster though? Have you tried to mount an ef-s lens?
@@andydlamini I do not have EF-S lenses. Did you line it up to the white dot and not the red?
Hi, I did but it doesn't seem to go all the way in, and I'm assuming it's because of the protruding rubber ring on the 10-18mm lens...
@@andydlamini L lenses have a rubber gasket and I didn't have an issue.
@@1KINDPhotography Yes L lenses have no issues because they are full frame 'EF' lenses but thanks for your video 🙏
Is there still a way to purchase one? I got the JJC hood off Amazon and it has an adapter ring that makes it difficult to get on and off.
I am looking to bring this back. Are you in the US?
I am. Charlotte, NC area a
Thank you for the video. You are the first one who did a more extensive review. There was a lot of rumors that this Speedbooster has a lot of bugs. Seems to me yours works fine. Thanks again.
it shouldn't be reporting back to the camera that you're using a 17-49mm F2 lens because you are not. The 24mm focal length is multiplied by 1.6x because the camera is a crop sensor one, so now you have a 38mm lens, and then you use the speed booster and the focal length is multiplied by 0.71x so it's a 24mm again. It is, though, what a 17mm lens used on a crop camera would look like but it doesn't make sense to use that analogy instead of just saying it's a 24mm. Same goes for aperture as well. If you'd use this speedbooster on a full frame camera then yes, you'd have a 17-49mm F2 lens, ignoring the fact that your photo would be a circle
It makes sense to use that kind of analogy because that's what the optical system in front of the camera actually becomes. different sensor size is just pre-cropping the sensor, changing the optical system actually affects focal length and light density projected on the sensor (as in f stop).
The reason it does this is because even though there is a crop factor of 1.6 the camera will still report it as 24mm, so it makes it messy.
Thanks for this video, appreciate it. it helps me in deciding which one to get for my camera. would love to hear from you if there's any new updates on the mcoplus grip after using for some time.
thank you
Does it have an IPS display.
IPS is not listed in the product specs.
Is it possible to put a small camera inside? Like a leica m?
I don't have a Leica but from what I've read online, it will fit the Leica M. I guess it also depends on the lens size as well but people have said they use the Leica M with the field pouch.
@@1KINDPhotography thanks for your reply. I think I will need to try it out sometime.. really want a small bag.
So, what I don't understand is...all those adjustments, contrast, lightness, funny colours, monochrome, etc, it's OK seeing it on the screen, but, how does one then record the image with these effects/adjustments applied on the screen when one presses the shutter on the camera? It's a bit of a waste of time if you can only see it on this monitor, but not on the resulting image from the camera or monitor. I have one of these monitors, and the instructions that came with it are severely lacking. Your video is at least a help in getting started using this monitor, but I think we all want to know how we record the image, as modified using the monitor. Thank you. David in the UK.
What is the think with Vjim and Ulanzi ? Did Ulanzi buy Vjim or something?
Ulanzi is the manufacturer. VIJIM is their product line
I have the XTAR PB2SL and i love it, i have two flat top 21700s in it, it can bring my Google pixel 7a phone from 20% battery up to 100% with about 10% left in the Xtar to top up my action camera, my headlamp takes one 21700 so if my phone or camera dosnt need juice i can swap a battery out with my headlamp, as my yeadlamp only last 3.7 hours in the brightness i use it at, which is usually enough, but not always, so i carry the xtar with me I also have a emisar d4k coming in the mail which also ises 21700, but it jeeds higer amp batteries than i currently have, so i have some 45a batteries coming in the mail aswell Whats that 4:49 battery you just plugged into the xtar?
That is the XTAR VN2 battery charger for camera batteries kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y52XtceKocm2Z7Q.html
I tried the mobile USBc RX to my oppo phone(android), but it doens't pair if I don't charge my phone at the same time... it should just plug and play without needing to charge right? anything i need to adjust in my android phone's setting?
Its plug and play on my Android. The only pairing would be the transmitter to receiver but that is done automatically and out of the box.
@@1KINDPhotography perhaps my phone is not compatible. I'll ask their support. Thank you 🙏
How did you charge the camera with the typec? I knew you had to buy the official charger to have it to work... What charging brick did you use?

Hey, thanks for the information. How has your experience been with water bear cleaning clothes after a year?
No issues with it.
Amazing review! How solid the mounts are? Does it have any play/wiggle? Seems to be solid to me here. I have a Sony camera and considering on buying the Laowa periprobe lens which is a serious investment at $2,300. Instead of buying directly the E-mount variant, I want to go with the EF version because the E-mount version has an adapter built for it so it's not a native mirrorless lens to begin with according to the older 24mm probe lens version I've already bought. Also the probe lens can't have any sort of filter up front if I wanna keep it f14 at bright sunlight while using the 180 shutter rule in video. This also means I can sell it to any camera owner much faster than being dedicated to Sony alone. Also there is another problem with all Laowa lenses is that they don't have weather sealing in the gasket and I use my camera in humid, rainy, dusty environments all the time so this Meike has weather sealing in the E-mount end with the clear/VND filter working as an extra protection for the sensor as well. Long story short, does the EF mount end solid/tight? Or does it have any sort of wiggle? Gonna tighten the front end of that lens anyway with a lens support but wanna know more from your first hand experience.
Mounts are solid and no issues with no play or wiggle. For me, its the same as the native lens in terms of fitment.
@@1KINDPhotography Thanks a lot, that's great news!
Hey, I don’t get the EZ Cast dual screen, and cannot use my touch screen with iPhone or MacBook… any ideas??
Can you adjust the tilt and what’s the battery life?
Yes, you can tilt it. You can see the monitor tilted back in order for me to show from a top down angle. So you can tilt it forward if you need to look from below or parallel with the camera for a straight on view. Battery life is about 1.5 hours on full max brightness or about 2.5-3 hours on lower brightness. Bigger the battery like the NP-F970, the longer it will be but also heavier.
Thanks for this vid, you broke down the reasons for this on FULL FRAME R cameras.
Hi. Can you use the touchscreen when you are using with the laptop?
Informative but boring
Neat, but why not use a lanyard around your wrist?
Some people don't want things wrapped around the wrist or dangling when not used. Some photographers just want that small security of holding the camera without it falling out of their hand or having it dangling from their wrist. This also allows for a quick set down as well. If paired with the Capture Clip, its quick and easy without having to deal with looping the strap around your hand/wrist.
I would be interested to know whether the device can also be operated with “normal” fog fluid. The fluid you know from event technology.
Yes, you should be able to. No where is it stated that you have to use theirs only nor do they sell their own brand.
Dont think I can trust this one...
How many pounds can it hold?
I've put a camera and lens on it and it moved. I would say no more than 6lbs
Hi, will this adaptor fit on to canon R50 ? As I have bought the R50 and I don't know much about cameras.
Yes it will as the R50 uses RF mount
Thank you for replying back, it's great help.
Would you recommend this for one camera as well ? I don’t think I’ll always be rocking 2 cameras all the time. How does this feel with one camera ??
I've used it with just one camera but because of the strap being on the same shoulder as the camera, it will feel lopsided because of gravity. That's why sling straps rest on opposite shoulder to distribute weight. I wouldn't do dual strap with one camera for long term. It needs that counter balance otherwise it will feel weird. I use dual harness for when I need 2 and a sling for when I need to carry 1. Clever Supply sells sling straps cleversupply.co/?ref=wlx53. Use coupon code to get 10% off.
I just clip the second strap to my belt loop when I don’t want to use a second body.
@@kriston9126 yes, that's another option. With the Clever Supply strap though, there's no clip to attach to the pants unless you add an anchor link.
