    No interviewer should take notes during the interview that would interrupt or slow down the candidates from their thoughts. Interviewer should remember and write down notes right after the interview is over. If candidates allow, then capture the video and take notes from there.

  • @jeffhsipepi
    @jeffhsipepiКүн бұрын

    @mahendraperiyadanam3801, so I have to kindly disagree with your comment, I think all interviewers should take notes. I do not believe that interviewers can remember everything that candidates say, and the expectation is that interviewers in 2024 should have strong typing skills so that their brain is able to take notes and process at the same time. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment!

    Thank you for this information! Is it common not to interview with the hiring manger if the team is already selected?

  • @jeffhsipepi
    @jeffhsipepi5 күн бұрын

    @gracewang4096, fantastic question! It is somewhat common, if I had to guess, it probably happens in less than half the cases, but still often enough. So basically, this is the hiring manager trusting the interviewers and the interview process and if the interview team identifies you as a strong fit, they will have an informal interview with you, very similar to a team match interview. Some HM's prefer a more casual approach. I hope this helps!

  • @JoLap42
    @JoLap426 күн бұрын

    In general good, but I'm assuming they'd want to go deeper into things like coaching, mentorship, action items, training and education, success measurements, etc. How would you enforce this? Also, this is a very long answer as Google behavior interviews are going to be 30 minutes long, so this seems to go overtime. I like when you mention listening mindset, focus on opportunities, ownership, alignment meetings and mini-action, commitments to keep them included in all next steps, and it is great in terms of the high level solution, and conducting research of what worked before, even at other organizations ... is great but it may seem like a bit much! Workshop part seemed really fluid and it went everywhere and got confusing, but the keywords were great. Maybe it's jut me but I'm not sure if the fake little smile or laugh at the end of each solution is going to help or hurt candidates, if I was interviewing and someone did too much of that it would come off as a little bit odd, I guess some would see it as confidence but I'd see it more as smug or know it all or sarcastic kind of attitude? Also, people hate surveys, how do you get people to keep filling them out? I think I would give you or someone that learned from this video and presented it like this, a moderate to recommend hire but with a few notes..

    Some people say that don't think too much about salary in initial stage of career and focus on hitting the company's goal, increasing revenue and saving time in projects so after achieving these things what's the next steps to double or triple down our salary ? Is negotiating the only way .. how it all works..

  • @jeffhsipepi
    @jeffhsipepi5 күн бұрын

    @mohibquadri4053, in general, both! @imprem_prakash, so typically, one of the reasons why the hiring manager interview is a hybrid interview is because they really cover what is needed to be successful in the role, it's mostly an RRK interview, they say GCA too because they might throw a tough problem-solving hypothetical question at you! I think those questions she suggested may make you impolite. you don't need to ask question for the sake of asking question. for onsite interview, sometimes, just terminate the interview with 1-2 questions or even without question, is okay enough. Since those interviewers many not be the team you are applying to. Don't pretend to be proactive, don't pretend to be someone that's not you. Just be normal and real. I remember I had a fun discussion with one of onsite interviewer, asking his opinion on what's the impact of chatgpt to the company and its interview process.

  • @jeffhsipepi

    Hi Jeff, this is really helpful for me to organise my thoughts related to the questions. I've a clarifying question: Are the questions related to specific industries only asked if you're interviewing for related roles. Eg I've no background in Cloud and only understand the basics of it. Can I still be asked a cloud related question, if ive no background and am not interviewing for cloud? This is easier for businesses like email, social media where we are an active user but may be difficult for technical businesses like ads, cloud etc. Thoughts?

  • @jeffhsipepi

    @sakshiabrol8430, candidates are not typically asked specific questions about product areas outside of the domain of the role and or their expertise. @YoyoCowboy, yes, by waiting to provide compensation expectations, we are in the power position when they want to hire us. Of course, value your time and try to understand upfront if the job will pay you what you need. And, some small companies simply will not move forward without some sort of compensation alignment. That is when defaulting to "I am open and negotiable for the right opportunity," typically works well.

    @TheGhettoMozart, yes, the job market is so competitive right now, please keep going, others will give up, just don't stop trying, you will land something, it might just take a little longer than expected!

    Great vid! They usually offer some RSUs, since you considered the value of RSUs, how can we adjust it with years and the price may swing on stock? also, do you mean you don't get anything until the end of the fourth year

    @preeper_, yah, controlling the ups and downs in value is obviously something that is out of our control! Refreshers are essentially guaranteed after a full calendar year of work. For instance, if you started on July 1st, it would be unlikely that you would get refreshers in 2025, but definitely in 2026. And these shares will start vesting right away, you will not have to wait all four years to get them.
