Zero Fuel Required

Zero Fuel Required

Welcome to Zero Fuel Required, my name is Christian. Whether I have a camera recording or not. I work on projects all the time. I like to help other people by making instructional repair videos. I try to be as thorough as possible, showing step by step, how to get the job done right and the materials needed for the project. So, it doesn't matter if you have little to no knowledge at all, following my videos will help you get the repair done right. I work on a wide variety of things from appliances, to kids stuff, to home repairs, to a wide range of car repairs, from a simple oil change to a ground up restoration. If you like to do things yourself, you'll want to subscribe to my channel, because you never know what I am going to do next.

    @slulions07 you need some good thumb index finger strength to get it to release. If not, you might have to pull the radio out to give yourself a different angle of attack. You'll get it. Thanks for watching and Good luck!

    @@ZeroFuelRequired I finally got it off and put the new fuse in. I gave up on putting the cover back on though. I might try again in a few days. I ended up using one of my kids diapers (a clean one obviously) to help prevent getting cuts on my arm.

    @slulions07 ha ha, clean diaper 🤣👍. That's cool. Whatever works. Know anyone with kids? They have smaller arms and can reach in there much easier than we can to put the cover back on. Preferably not a kid in diapers 🤣.

    Great video! So, you put 35" wheels on. Is your Ford a 4x4? Do you think with a 2" suspension lift there would be no rubbing issue with 35"s? Alternatively, without a 2" suspension lift (so, in factory condition), would 33" wheels fit without rubbing issue? I like the new rims, what's the brand? Many thanks!

  • @ZeroFuelRequired
    @ZeroFuelRequired5 ай бұрын

    Factory rims and tires in the video that I replaced are approximately 33 inch they have plenty of room. The 2013 king ranch 20 inch rims & tires, the tires are approximately 35 inch in diameter. You need 2 inch hub centric spacers on all 4 wheels to run the newer rims. This video my Excursion is 4x4 with the original springs and ride height. The modifications I made to the bottom edges of the bumper and the back of the wheelwell plastic gave plenty of room for clearance. A 2 inch suspension lift would probably give plenty of clearance. Since I made this video I've replaced the springs front and rear because a front spring had break a leaf. I found a set of F-250 4x4 offroad springs front and rear used for $100. Installed they raised my Excursion almost 4 inches over the height you see in this video. If you upgrade your wheels and install 2 inch spacer you have to shorten the all studs on the axles so they don't touch the rim or drill out the back of the rim a little bit so they don't touch the rim. Sounds silly but when the spacers are installed the orginal studs on the axles sticks out a fraction of an inch. Putting the rim on tight the rim stops on the studs and doesn't mate with the spacers. The the rims are floating on the original axle struds and will weaken the studs on the spacers, breaking and possibly losing a wheel going down the road. You'll see. After that's fixed torque the spacers abs torque the rims. Drive 50 miles. Take the rims off check the torque on the spacers. Put the rims back on and torque them. Recheck the rim torque in 50 miles. Every tire rotation, when you rotate the rims & tires, torque them, run 50 miles and recheck the torque. I've done this for years and never had a problem. I regularly tow 8500 lbs. I hope this helps and good luck.

    Does anyone know mine screen went black wont turn on is there a fuse maybe that is blown ? Or do i need to replace completely

  • @ZeroFuelRequired
    @ZeroFuelRequired5 ай бұрын

    Check the fuse. Does it have power? Is it turned on? Check if on incorrect input. Is there sound, like it's playing, but the screen is blank? Try shining a flashlight into the screen to see if there is an image that's playing. My manual say to check the follownig fuse locations at the Central Junction Box: 32 (20A). 11 (20A). 42 (15A). 16 (15A). Other than that it's a diagnosis for different points and the voltages. Might have to pull out the front stock stereo and make sure both plugs are connected and secure. Pull the overhead down to gain access to the back of the DVD/media center to double check the harness plug/s in and secure.. One minor point, are you trying to activate the system with a remote control? If so, are the batteries good? It's difficult to diagnose over the internet. If this is beyond your capabilities, replacement with a working unit or upgrade to something else might be an option. Check these things and Let me know how you make out.

    Ok Great! Yes this helps I will plumb it in line with the pool and isolate it off with valves if I need to replace but I have gone through everything and cleaned all contacts with electrical cleaner. The only issue I had taking the valve apart was the arm that pushes the valve open when you turn the blue knob on inside was rusted. I freed it up and took it out with the pin and cleaned it all up to move free. The rest looked good.

    Can you test the ignition without the gas and water running? I went through the whole valve as you showed plugged it in to see if I could here sparking when pressing the button but don’t here spark or the fan doesn’t turn, mine is SC100 older one has been sitting for a few years but trying to test it without water running or gas as I will have to replace the regulator and pipe to the unit. Thanks

  • @ZeroFuelRequired
    @ZeroFuelRequired9 ай бұрын

    They all have a bunch of safety checks that have to be tripped to complete the circut, to allow gas to flow and ignition to spark. Water circulation will trip the flow switch to complete its part of the circuit. If the gas was burning and water wasn't flowing it could damage the heat exchanger. You could use a jumper wire to complete the circuit at the flow sensor but if it ignites I would shut it down right away so you don't damage the heat exchanger, remove the jumper and try again. Don't forget to remove the jumper wire when you are done. You want all safety checks working properly so the heater works properly. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question.
