I remember when United and City were both trying to sign him. Sadly, like many others, he fell for the lie of the City academy. Like Gazza going to Spurs instead, what might have been. It's great to see him playing, he's a player who you just enjoy watching, who's football brain is far ahead of most around him

3-1 was an unlucky result. Kelly and Watson were great as always. Speakman doesn’t get enough credit for the work he’s done with our academy talent.

They were professional in the way they took advantage of their opportunities. We weren’t. Shows there’s still a gap between our academy and the really good ones. Gap is definitely closing and Speakman doesn’t get enough credit for the work he’s done for the academy

Been following the lads progress over the season and under Graham Murty and his staff they've made great strides forward and the performances in the playoffs have shown they have tremendous fighting spirit and resilience. Considering the Spurs keeper was the busiest is a true reflection of how the lads performed and I think they can count themselves very unlucky to lose to a scoreline that hides the truth. Well done guys because you're winners in my eyes.👏👏👏👏

Hats off to all of the lads! But a few stood out for me, personally.. Taylor - Tidy On the ball + Shoots from anywhere and scores. Watson - Clarke v2. Kelly - Delivery and set pieces on point. Tuterov - Work Rate & Positioning.

I’m really happy with David Bruce, he Is Sunderland through and through. However, he can’t be the guy they are putting front and centre at the moment to deflect the concerns over the season that has just taken place on the pitch, and to run interference with the delay in appointing a new head coach. We need to hear ASAP from Speakman in this regard.

I'm hoping that he signs his first pro contract with Sunderland and that he kicks on next season as a regular starter because he's got all the tools to be successful and he's a down to earth young guy who knows where he's heading, a team needs building around him should be a priority for whoever the next head coach is.

  • @Westerhousen

Couldn’t care less if he was born on the centre circle at Roker park. Any investment in the stadium is welcome, but superficial. The fans want to see a strong manager appointment, and the acquisition of 3/4 decent pros to get us over the line. This is the last year of your 5 year plan. Best you make it good.
