What is the bolt used on the wall?
@paulbonaventura49693 жыл бұрын
I am in Florida too, same setup with the 2 doors that slide. If I got the "double bolt" one I would need to do it on both sides and I have 4 doors (well 2 sliding door entrances) but 4 glass panes total. The double bolt will get expensive fast right? I want to do the Pin because it's so simple and easy.

Security systems are hackable and may actually broadcast to criminals where you are, that you may have something of value to protect, and that you are improperly relyng on it. Just saying.

you are the only one who mentioned the stationary slider. Everyone focuses on the slider with the handle, but no one tells you how to secure the stationary one. Thanks for advising to install a pin lock, which takes care of both issues! You rock!

YOU also need a protection film . dont give him that much credit. its glass. anyone thats wants into a glass room like that is not going to worry about any kind of lock because your behind glass, no safe cracking. no heavy door to break thru. Glass

Did you review your video to see what you showed and hear what you said. Dozens of "ahs" in your presentation were not necessary - it made you sound uncertain as well as not well organized.

A piece of wood in the track paired with an alarm system is the most effective. That why when they try to pry the door, it will trigger the door sensor. Breaking the glass will trip a nearby motion sensor and will attract attention from the noise. Out of all the people I know who've been broken into, burglars pried open their sliders or windows.

Johnson's security film , 12 mil ;-) and or glass breakage alarm 🚨 on the slider, or since you're in Florida, I'm pretty sure you're accustomed to seeing Hurricane shutters, look for the roll up type, that can cover both panes of glass on the sliding glass doors , you can mount it on the outside for Hurricanes and security, be sure to have a remote , and manual way to open from the inside Incase of a 🔥 fire, or stealth, mount it on the inside , with the same options , best of luck, I have a few more tricks , but I must keep those to myself for opsec hope you understand. Heck I might share 1 or 2 later down the road, but never all my ideas for sliding glass doors.

Some windows have decorative white tic-tac-toe grids on them. Instead, use steel behind these tic-tac-toe things to prevent run thrus.

The wood withstands brute force and slows entry. All the other locks in your video will pop. The wood also has to defeat coat hangers by a clipped down. The wood must be accompanied by screws on top of the glass door. Our wood is at bottom and no bending to remove wood and shielded from coat hangers.

Can you slide something on top to prevent the door from being lifted?
@David-yg8tf9 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can. But a better idea is a flat-end screw. Must screw into the wood frame.

Pretty cool video . Maybe you can help me out . We tried breaking a patio glass door in the last few days . We tried pellet guns, rocks and bricks and it would not break . I don't know the manufacturer but they were tearing this house down and I got permission to do a video . Do you know or think you know who the manufacturer was by looking at the video. Thanks and have a great 4th of July weekend my friend .
