Two differen packs and they fall right off the door by the time i get from one side to the other. Even cleaned the door with a couple different cleaners and it still wouldn't stick. Except to itself when it would fall off

So why didn't it show the 2in+ gap under the ac? And can you close the window without the ac in but bracket still in? Or do i have 3 holes draining from my window into my wall??

This is such horse shit. The tape residue is such a pain in the ass to get off. Expect an hour per window in the spring with a bottle of goo be gone and iso alcohol.

I hear the opposite. If I keep my heat tape plugged in,especially in July and August,it can overheat and cause a fire or atleast melt.In addition, and besides the extra cost and waste of electricity, the life span of the tape must be less, compared to unplugging it about 6 months out of the year when warmer. The problem I have it that my heat tape in under my mobile home and not easy to reach.I have to crawl over water pipes in a tight area, dodge wolf spiders and more.I can call an electrician to relocate the socket, but then, its a good bet that will cost me several hundered dollars to do so.My heat tape has no thermostat.I bought one and tried it,but did not like the way it worked, because it only came on at 30-32 degrees.Too close for comfort, before my water meter and pipe would freeze.I already replaced a water meter due to a freezing meter or pipe and it was 300 dollars.

I had to stop this video. When I listened to you talk, it was ok, but then the music was so loud, I had to run & turn it down, then turn it back up to hear you talk. Then back & forth, same thing, nope.

I wish i watched this before trying to apply foam on the hot water line that is thick enough to touch the exhaust pipe. The foam melts onto the exhaust pipe and has my basement smelling like boiling plastic.

In the winter my room smells like fire/burnt plastic I have such a headache. Only my room. I have every window covered. My daughter has 2 but her room doesn't smell. I'm wondering if the sun ONLY shines on my windows and thats why it smells burnt? Thoughts?

Is it ok to install fiberglass insulation tape on top or either under the md heat tape strip? Or is the foam insulation better to put on top of the heat tape?

NOTE: just cuz the power indicator light is ON, does not mean the cable is working....test between 2 ziplock bags of ice before installing to save you a lot of time & hassle..... this video is about as useless as my Frost King heat cable which I did NOT test before installing - not only did my pipes burst but I had to crawl under the house, fix the pipes, tear out what I had installed, go to the store, buy a different brand, crawl under the house reinstall...a waste of 2 days not to mention I couldn't get my money back at HomeDepot. A useless product & a bad experience.

  • @jeffflowers3645

are those temps the ambient air temp or sensing the temp of the waterpipe? Seems a waste of electricity to be on anything above 32 degrees.

    - some heat cables show the cable actually wrapped around the pipes but you guys show laying the cable straight - which way is more effective and safe?? - Over the past few years I've replaced most of my pipes w/PEX....when the pipes froze this year they didn't crack....PEX is more forgiving than copper or galvanised. - Your joints are the weak spots for freezing

ok but heres the problem, my tape is longer then my pipe, so i cant attach the thermostat to the pipe. therefore the thermostat is just exposed to open air. which i guess means the product isnt working at all? and im using it on pvc pipe

I have never felt any warmth on the outer shell of a hot water heater, so not sure why the need for a blanket? If one can feel warmth going through, then yes, it would be needed. I really think this is a waste of time and money.

The thermostat (black thing that touches the pipe) has to get cold enough to turn on the heat. These are hard to test on the pipe. Easier to test with a ziplock bag of ice placed on the thermostat.

Don't buy Frost King. It's cloudy and the creases don't come out after using blow dryer! The tape isn't very sticky, either.
