@@cgll4304 so, as reactors of a lot of Japanese Rock and K-Pop, we're used to seeing (and badly pronouncing) names that are Asian like (nicknames are the exception). So to see a more traditionally English name was surprising. We actually covered this in the follow up reaction we did to their Cypher video. It's in the first part so you don't have to wait that long.

I appreciate you making the distinction between what female rappers can do VS what usually sells. I think XG is showcasing that we can set a new standard for what can SELL in a western market.

You may never read this, but the band’s name is pronounced gaw-chaw-rick spin. Japanese tends to end syllables on the vowel sound rather than blending into consonants like we do in English.

Harvey is half Australian but grew up in Japan, which is why her English isn't strong. Maya went to an international school in Japan that spoke English, making her fluent.
On Woke Up you mistakenly stated that Jurin has a lisp that is probably language related. I also heard it on that track but have never noted one before or after. My best guess is that she was recording with her actual grill in, lol.

They are a 7 member group who speaks japanese, korean, english and sign language. They also have a rap line, a vocal line, and now majority of them are all rounders which means they can sing and rap. They have the vox which is all vocals, the tapes are all rap, they have moves which is all dance practices and choreography. They do have alot if short videos but they fire as well. I luv this group. Their 1st debut was tippy toes. They came out 2yrs ago. All I'm gone say is you won't be disappointed and they don't ever miss.

My first video from y'all was Woke Up and I got your humor. Those people on that video were the toxic alphas. I've seen different reactions where someone was straight disrespectful. You guys were cool even if you weren't reactions aren't suppose to be all praising, criticism is something to help build people it's the receiver that chooses how to take it. XG isn't just built on hard work but also criticism, they used the criticism to better themselves and if you've watched from the start you can tell.

I know of people who truly believe this is an Asian "Milli Vanilli" gimmick. Given that, I can see these talented ladies running into claims of appropriation of Hip Hop culture. I hope they continue to thrive beyond the potential level of negativity and share their gifts as internationally recognized artists.

They get some shit from some Americans about them speaking English as if they are cosplaying. I hate this take. They are simply trying to get their music to the most people possible. I have no doubt that of they did traditional k pop they would be one of the biggest groups ever. But they want to be more globally significant (Not that there hasn't been groups break out). The easiest way to do that is to speak English. I think it's a genius approach and I respect them for it. It can't be easy to produce they quality they do in their 3rd language. You guys keep digging in. These girls are special. Definitely get into their vocals. There's also world class singers in XG. Nice reaction ✌🏾
