@1:49 "Giovani was an Italian business man who seized the opertunity to be born...." lol!!!!!!
Blood line ruined when Elkann married in
Interesting how Lapo came out brash and controversial (as seen in your video) whilst his brother John turned out the polar opposite. I wonder what causes such polarity in siblings. Great video! Thanks for posting 🎩
It’s interesting how siblings can turn out so differently despite similar upbringings 😉. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Lapo was abused as a child in his boarding school. I'm guessing that has a lot to do with it.

Sutton Place/Beekman Place and Gracie Square are more "old money" than Central Park South area imo
Don't like how they buy beautiful old british buildings and turn them into ugly americ*n looking new builds, great video though
Hi, I'm here to help you build your automation channel with the best expertise, top-notch editions, and engaging animations. Let's make your channel stand out!
I think The British Royal Family were jealous of the relationship between Prince William of Gloucester and Zsuzsanna (Zsuzsi) Starkloff because they were very much in love with each other and I say that’s not fair to them 👎🏽
There isn't any ," old money " persons living there these days , you can be sure... :))
The Prudential purchase and subsequent construction of outsized apt. buildings has ruined the formerly quaint polite society island , where we were all members of previously..
Old money vs New 💰
Returning the crown would help, Italy is a gang land and a dump now just what all Republican governments produce.
I think you should brush up on your Italian history. The unification of Italy was done by Caribaldi who gave southern Italy to the Savoy It was the Americans who wanted the referendum and they influenceD the results to banish the royal family All royal families have Scandles look at the British royal family
Hello, My 5th Great- Grandmother Elizabeth Warburg, born 1737 , daughter of Grumrich Moses Marcus Warburg b.1727 d.1801 and Rechel Lea Warburg ,married a gentile named Johann Christian Gehrcke b.1734, I guess they disowned her, lol
Uncaptivated. She became a pilot, etc., after William's death. And she called herself "Cinderella". She wound up with a man named Don Sundin, although the interviews I've seen, it was implied she pined for William for the rest of her life.
Francis Bell is my Dad's Great Aunt. Her husband was the heir to estate. I'm looking for old photography of The Estate. Maybe find a picture of them or of their home. I did find the picture of their Broadview home overlooking Gardiner's Bay. Dennistoun is listed as a fireman at his firehouse on his property in the 1930s.
From the USA. I am an Italian American. My grandparents came to the USA from Italy around 1920. I am for the reinstatement of the Savoy Monarchy but like the one in Great Britain. I believe that they were treated unfairly. They should be given back their jewelry which was passed down through generations. It does not not belong to the Italian government. The family has already lost property. That should bem enough. They do not owe a debt to the Italian people.
The daughter came across as bitter and a phony, the mother seemed very smart.
This is Sassy Gran Doris's ex husband and Giovanni Agnelli is that the grandson sassy Gran Doris and Giovanni Agnelli the former senator of Italy., This is incredible!!!!
"some of his diary entrances"? Is this AI narrating this?
Would have asked him if it ever crossed his mind to do something good and morally honorable for this World and it s people ?
Like an Italian Trump ✌️
Mixing families have the same chances to rise or fall like the ohters. Thank you for your video.
What are your thoughts on the rise and fall of family empires in the world of business? Do you believe that mixing family and business is a recipe for success or a potential downfall
"Gratitude to this esteemed channel for its elegant portrayal of old money. Your dedication to preserving refinement is truly admirable." Regards, Hugo B.
Thank you for your kind words.
they arnt that good lookin
Why was his great love Marie Callas not mentioned ?? 😮
Thank you. They are obscenely rich however the Portman's trusts do appear to help communities where they have property. The improvements they have made are far superior to the ghastly garish mess of revolting decorated exteriors of nasty shops and takeaways everywhere. It's devasting to see much of London is shabby, vulgar and clutterd with undesirable shop fronts, litter, thunderous traffic and horribly attired people. The elegance of London is only found in the more exclusive areas and even these have fallen victim to unrefined shops. Xxxx ❤❤❤
How interesting
Good documentation. Thank you for it.
You’re welcome!
Thanks for the video! I disliked the ads, thinking they crossed the line. Also, I'm not sure that the Benetton family is old money. They've had wealth for only a couple generations it seems like. Isn't old money wealth handed down across many generations?
Hey Colin, You raise a very interesting point about the ads; they certainly have sparked diverse opinions over the years, and it's interesting to hear different perspectives on their impact. Regarding the definition of "old money," you're absolutely right that it traditionally refers to wealth that has been inherited over several generations. The Benetton family's ascent to wealth in the mid-20th century does place them on the cusp of what many might consider being "new money." However, their ability to maintain and grow their wealth, influence, and the legacy over the decades introduces a fascinating discussion on how we classify and perceive old vs. new money in modern times. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Funny you *like* yr own comment
How do you feel the controversial ads of the Benetton family have influenced public discourse on social and political issues? Do you think they were effective in sparking meaningful conversations, or did they cross the line? Let us know your perspective in the comments!
Old money is so interesting because it suggests aristocratic values, which stand in marked contrast to bourgeois values that define the modern world, from aesthetics to morality. Thank you for the interesting video! I liked the whole thing and especially the narrator’s RP accent! My question is whether Old Money Lovers can emphasize old money culture (beliefs and practices) in the modern world, in addition to the various possessions and investments. Thanks again!
Hey Colin, Thank you for your thoughtful comment and kind words! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the video. We will definitely be looking into your suggestions in future content. Stay tuned, and thanks again for your support and insightful feedback!
And what are Aristocratic values?
@@fieldmarshaljoe that’s what I’m trying to learn
@@colinpace1987 I don’t know why I watched this video, it was sponsored, I wasn’t actively looking for this type of content. I watched it regardless and enjoyed. I read your comment but I can’t figure out if this channel or yourself are romanticising aristocracy/old money?
@@fieldmarshaljoe I find your comment amusing because I’m a progressive liberal and critical thinker. Call it a historical interest why I’d like to know about Old Money values and culture. Take classicism, for example, as an aristocratic value lost in bourgeois modernity. I laud classicism, not for its aristocratic association, but for its expansive worldview. What else did we do away with needlessly?
Monarchy is over. Go home ? For more scandal ?
Monarchy is definitely over in italy.
There are so many changes and pieces of improvements so I can't decide. Thank you for your video.
Love the Agnelli ❤
You’re continuously showing images of regent street
What aspect of the Portman family's influence on London's development do you find most fascinating, and why? The 1946 referendum was - without doubt - not a completely accurate reflection of the people's wishes. The incumbent government wanted change and there were significant irregularities in it, like the shredding of votes in some places known to favour the status quo. King Umberto II was well aware of these irregularities but decided to avoid civil strife and accept the flawed result. The true result will never be known. What we do know is that the outcome was certainly closer than the official result, IMHO not a definitive enough result to change country's constitutional arrangements.
Humberto II never abdicated, the republic took power before the results were announced, the republic is not regular
The referendum was not regular, there are many books that tell the story of these days. The republic is the worst decision our people have made…
A romantic country should have a romantic government style. I think the return of the monarchy may be a beautiful thing but let me become a citizen first haha. I'm working to do my Jure Sanguini. I'd better hurry.
im italian and i hope the royal will return
