This channel focuses on a couple of things but the common thread is preparedness. In life we can take steps and use tools to deal with what comes at us. There is a day coming that no knife, gun, tool, or any other piece of gear can prepare us for. That day will be when we stand before our creator and our eternal fate is decided. That's the day I'm really preparing for and God has told us just how to do it. Mark 16:15-16. Hope you enjoy the videos as I enjoy making them. God Bless, Kevin Cleary

I think prying anything with a pocket knife is idiotic. I agree with metal complex.
Mine feels cheap with the plastic thumb studs. Are there any aftermarket thumb studs for this knife?
Love mine, i do a lot more carving kinda things and its an absolute dream to use for small hand sized carvings. Plus another thing that was great to see was it coming so sharp out of the box, most of that cheap tools i end up having to hand sharpen when i get em but this little thing came more than sharp enough to carving with right out of that box
Ive carried many knives over the years- of many different manufacturers, blade shapes, blade steels, handle materials ect- but the one thing in particular that really defines whether a knife is going to be carried (and often overlooked) is the lock type. Early on, I genuinely preferred a lock back knife (my first was a ka-bar dozier when I was 11 years old)- and then eventually moved into knifes like the ontario rat-1 liner locks, cold steel recon 1 tri-ad locks. It wasnt until I was maybe 17 years old that I had stopped using my PM2 for an axis lock, and my preferences immediately changed. As a lefty, most liner locks, compression, frame locks ect are not lefty oritented- moving onto an axis lock really changed the game up as it is truly ambidextrous. I use my knives often, and its a huge benefit to be able to open and close your hand one handed, without habing to change your grip- especially when youre holding up something with you off hand as I normally am. A compression lock with a CME works well from what ive seen- and i like the pm2 too much to replace it with a manix- but the cross bar lock/axis lock ect is perfect for me. For a hard use folder however, the triad is unquestionably robust. A cold steel is always in my pack as a backup bushcraft/trail knife.
Do you happen to still have the Manix back lock?
Wow...Made in China?.....=((
Smh.... I've had a lot lot lot of knives. I bought one every month or so.... Been doing so for years. Out of all of them, I like this one... Had it about a year now
ckg meet or ?
@@silaspierre1377 yeah ckg meet I think I said that
@@Kevinclearysharpstuffi gotta make one sometime
I suppose I am biased - I have always been a Chris Reeve guy and still am however… when PA turned legal for autos, I purchase an Ultratech - and then Microtech started upgrading their OTF’s with milled titanium clips, new dual fuel system and at the same time as I was buying them (Combat Troodon, Cypher II, Hera II), they came out with a new LUDT with titanium back spacer, the aluminum Stitch and MSI - all with upgraded Ti back spacers and now I have a whole bunch. All that to say not only did Microtech come out with these new folders, they are very premium at not very premium prices - I feel like Microtech is delivering big time and the MSI is just incredible!
Personally I love it, but it is kind of decisive. Some people hate how it looks. That's okay, more for me!
Quick question, do you do any knife trading? I have a mostly budget collection and I'm trying to thin it out a bit by trading some of my lesser used/loved knives. I only ask because I live in southwestern Ontario and I'm having a hard time finding any reputable trading sites. I figured I'd at least see if you're interested at all before I give up. If not no worries, no harm in asking, right?
I don't do to much trading these days however there are a bunch of facebook groups which encourage sale and trade that's probably your best bet
@@Kevinclearysharpstuff Thanks!
interesting, they make great Blades...The Scout 3.5 is one of my new favorites!
Same been on my want list a lil after it came out finnaly got it a week ago i love it
You're definitely not wrong. Having a knife tube in Canada is a huge struggle. I've had luck with more traditional knives (Rough Ryder, Case, etc.) out of Chicago Knife Works. I ordered a Rosecraft traditional, which spent about a week bouncing around Montreal. It finally arrived with a big bit of CBSA tape on it. It must have been popular, as it was covered in finger prints. Having a half-stop on a traditional, or a very double-clutch on a modern, may be a saving grace. Ordering from a site that does not have "knife" in the company name (on the return shipping address) might also help. It's extra confusing that CBSA follows it's own set of guidelines, inconsistant with the national carry laws. The same knife that can't cross the border can be purchased at your local Bass Pro or Canadian Tire. I miss the Canada I grew up in. I don't recognize this one. How we got from the Hudson Bay Company days to this is mind-boggling.
👍 Interesting video. Why do you prefer the Cold Steel AD10?
@@ROE1300 Because it’s handle is more neutral allowing for various comfortable grips
@@Kevinclearysharpstuff That helps, thanks!
Just got mine. Love it!
I love that carbon fiber. I finally got an AD20s with g10 scales (which are nice) and a full flat grind drop point in Magnacut. It's a grail. I would love to pick up an AD20 with CF or titanium scales.
In regards to clamping FFG knives, Hapstone makes spring clamps that have jaws that spread in the back to pinch the blade that may work better. With the CBN stones, those ones appear to have not been lapped and don't have much abrasive exposed so they cut quite slowly (but polish better). Once I lapped mine the 80 grit stone became quite a beast since more grit was exposed. They are made by compressing the abrasive and binder in a mold under many tonnes of pressure so they are quite flat/mild when new. As for the angle changing on longer knives, the angle only truly changes when the edge gets closer/farther from being perpendicular with the clamp bar so on tips, bellies, recurves etc. If the knife edge is straight the angle stays the same no matter if it is 3" or 30" long. Clamping tip for that Lionsteel (and others): If you moved the right side clamp out more so it was clamped near the handle, there is a much larger flat surface there which could make for a more solid hold overall on knives that don't have a bit flat near the tip.
Hello! I’m carrying mine today and sometimes, you want to hear people talk about the knife you’re carrying. I’ve got skiffs on the way to give it new underwear and it’s SO good in hand. Nice video!
I know this is a old review But now that four years has past These over rated overpriced things Are everything for sale and yet there still wanting asinine prices for them And there not moving knifecenter has them quite often for 700.00 and they just sit for weeks hear knives was all ways nothing but a wet little dream
I make handles for the Hapstone RS that stops the rod from poking you in the hand as you use it. If you are interested let me know and I can provide more information. Thanks for the video!!!!
CRK = snowflake/queer knife.
I have one it's one of the most solid knives I have. I feel like I could take down a tree with it.
The simpler WE’s are my favorites. I’m out on the many gauche models they seem to propagate. However, they must have bought up the world’s supply of 20CV…..would be great if they varied the steel options as their competition does!
I've had a couple of Morgan K's. Keen Bowie and another. Togatta? Both Bestech. I'm pretty impressed with those.
I have nyala and b41, I love more my b41
I have a lot of really nice knives but when I'm going into the mountains ounces count, this is the knife I'm carrying, it's perfect.
I'm only getting sound in one speaker - just letting you know. God bless. :)
Thanks for the looks Kevin 😎
Kevin attempts a 3 dimensional puzzle, some assembly required 🤣
I’ve only ever played with one of these at a knife show, but sheesh does it feel sturdier than a Midwestern woman. Really nice action and the angle it opens at is very intuitive compared to some other knives with this oblong opening hole style.
Tell us why you like it
People seem to like it, now that its called the miguron moyarl
Many We knives are too flashy for my taste, but this one is a beauty!
as long as we knives have internal milling they pass the i only wasted alittle to much money on them. I passed on this f9r fancyer ones but i remeber the action being very good
Got this watch in the white dial version with light Blue indices. Watch is great, placed a nylon strap on the watch because the bracelet wasn’t long enough for my wrist. Watch cost was around $360 US Dollars off Amazon. Other colors cost more because I think they’re more popular. One negative thing is that Casio doesn’t have any extra links for the bracelet.
Zebra has made some great pens but crappy refills, so I just adapt/trim cheap plastic ballpoint pen refills to fit ... and they work great! I wish they also did the F-701 in sprayed-on black, blue, red, etc. I actually love the Zebra F-605, which is sadly no longer made ... I have two of them (plus the pencils) and they are beautiful!
Nice knife! Seems better than the asmr...
Well the asmr was not intended so any amount of planning should be better
Didn't know this was out there. Not bad at all. I like it.
This is a great knife and thanks for your review.I wish the flipper tab was just slightly larger and the pass through was a little bit easier. Besides that, Civivi has a winner with The Vexillum.
Great for chopping vegetables
I carry the AD 10 daily and love it. I think i need a 4max as well
Good knife, good review. Wasn’t aware of this one. Thanks Kevin.
The recon is better to "fight with" the lawman is the king of pocket knife things
My edc for hard use in my work environment. Beat the crap out if it. It shows, but it's as functional as it was 2 years ago. Also, perfect size.
I thought about buying this as well but I think my favourite in this category is still the sr1 lite because it even has a thicker blade stock and is slightly longer.
SR1's blade is so thick that it's not a good slicing tool. It's a sharpened pry bar, and a good beater, but it doesn't have good blade geometry. If you reprofile the grind and take a lot of meat off from behind the edge it works better. The AD10, 4Max, and Recon 1 are much better options.
If you're breaking an ad10 you're doing something wrong 😂
I keep telling myself to try an AD10, but every time I almost buy it, I think "What will this get me that my 4Max Scout doesn't have?"
Since when did need have anything to do with buying a knife
@@KevinclearysharpstuffFair enough
Much easier to carry 😂
Gotta love the paramilitary 2, always enjoyed the action on it
Rambo knife, but military version.
265? I just ordered one two days ago directly from hapstones New Jersey warehouse for 199 shipped. I got some of their premium diamond stones as well and they were pricey for sure. but 265 is pretty high from what I saw.
Canadian dollar vs USD. Kevin and Thunderbird Gear are located in Canada thus the "higher" prices.
