    Hi. Do you get to choose your seats? Which side has the better view? Many thanks

    Yes, you choose your seats when booking. The journey is so long that I'm not sure there's a better side. Definitely the left side when leaving Trondheim, but there's so much to see along the whole route 🙌

    Thanks for making this. I've spent the last few days in the city. Really enjoyed the tram ride and walk around the lakes and woods. As a swimmer the Pirbadet complex is fantastic and you are lucky to have this. Rockheim pop museum could perhaps have been mentioned, I spent a fun few hours in there while it was raining outside.

    Glad you enjoyed it! I do regret not including Rockheim but perhaps I'll make an updated version next year :) I've spent many an enjoyable morning in Pirbadet too! Thanks for watching 🙌

    In 2017 we sailed with our 34 feet sailboat from the Netherlands to Honningsvåg. Left our boat there for a few days and take the Hurtigruten to Kirkenes. We managet to get a visum to Russia and visited several places in Rusland. Then go back by Hurtigruten to our sailboat in Honningsvåg and after a long sailing around the Nordkapp and going south we are back home.

    Yes, the psychopaths really turned me off, but the beauty of the city told me the psychopaths may not be so bad. I like the bar that had the sign, "Live by the sun". I'm pretty sure that's wishful thinking. I can see why you chose to live there. It's gorgeous! The cathedral reminds me of Chartre in France. Love vids. Love the podcast. Love the weekly writing. Thanks for all you do.

    Great video, thank you! My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous three days in Oslo last November. We had a wonderful time at The National Museum and enjoyed a delicious lunch there too. Loved The Munch museum and the views from there of the city. Enjoyed exploring the waterfront and getting up early to see the sunrise and enjoy a floating sauna in the harbour. I hope to return and see more of the amazing places in your video, loved Oslo ☺

    Curious question, when the northern lights were present did the ship turn off any of the deck lighting to make it easier to see? I ran into that issue while on a recent Alaska cruise.

    I was intrigued by Felix Scopulus' tower, since there were never any Romans or Roman buildings in Scandinavia. So I googled. Turns out the whole thing is made up - an art project.

    Great video, but I have one or two questions. We are thinking of booking this for end of September. Have you been to the port of Hellesylt? If you have, what sightseeing excursion would you recommend? The other 2 ports it will stop at are Alesund and flám. Thank you

    Make it easier to get to Bodo - improve transport and accommodations. Affordability is an issue. What are you doing to attract x pats to move and live in Bodo? Incentives are needed. It's a safe community with amenities; thus, people can retire or work / live. This is key for a place that's dark, windy and cold. Incentives for x pats.

    Thanks, David. We did go on the Hurtigruten from Bødo to Svolvær and that was sufficient for us. We really don't agree that so many of the bigger cruise ships are allowed down the fjords, but how else will so many get to see them when alternate means of travel may not have the capacity?

  • @juliamadelin3825

    I thought they were going to ban those ghastly massive ships from the inner fjords, due to massive air pollution from their engines.

    Me again! On the FreddyO website, Ocean view cabins are approx 213ft², interior cabins approx 184ft². Thats about 3x10ft difference. I've stayed in the interior cabin and looking at the video here, I cannot see where that extra 30 feet² is coming from! I've also checked the 360⁰ Panoramic viewers on the FreddyO website. The cabins look identical. I'm guessing you've been in both more or less back to back for the review, so could you spot any difference in size? Thanks!

  • @lifeinnorway1
    @lifeinnorway121 күн бұрын

    I've only stayed in the ocean view cabin so I can't say. The inside cabins look more or less the same size to me. Perhaps contact Fred Olsen directly? I'm sure they will be able to tell you.

    in contemplating a norwegian cruise, coming from the u.s., i have found your videos to be a great source of information. and i like your calm demeanor. one thing i learned from watching this video is that i am very much leaning towards havila. i am definitely not the floating holiday camp sort of person. at. all. yikes!

    Why does Norway allow these huge ships???

  • @Ado_Bielo
    @Ado_Bielo21 күн бұрын

    I think their policy for cruise ships is changing very soon by limiting the number of ships and possibly allowing zero emission vessels only. We went to Flåm by train in the wintertime and took the smaller ferry to the fjord, then a snowshoe tour the following day. It was quiet, quaint, no crowds & very beautiful (& cold).. 😊
