  Being a resident of Santa Monica for 15+ years I can say bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists all play a part. I've seen bicyclists/skateboarders/scooters but mainly bicyclists that blast though stop signs and were inches from a car or cars that were there at least 10 seconds before the bicyclists. And once I was ridding in a car and stopped at a 4-way stop sign and were there first and we went and all of the sudden a bike came out of nowhere and had to slam of the brakes and stop in the middle of the intersection b/c we didn't want to hit that guy but went behind us and started cussing and when we said we were calling the cops he became quite. If the SMPD strickens the bike rules and actually enforce it, it could save some bicyclists and accidents and lots of road rage. Now pedestrians: I've seen thousands that jaywalk, cross when there's a yellow/red light, and walk in front of traffic. If the SMPD enforce that it will reduce the number of people getting hit by cars and hit & runs. And motorist: they becoming worse and lots run stop signs/red lights, cut bicyclists off (some don't wear lights it light reflected vest), almost hit people who actually use crosswalks properly, speed, lane change a few inches in front of cars, fling their car door in front of traffic/leaving a dark paneled door open at night, hog up 2+ spaces, parks in the red zone, blocks people driveway, and lots of expired tags. I'm most likely 1 of many residents that want to see changes in those categories.
