I've been using my Field Notes super haphazardly and its still managed to be really good for me to keep up with everything since I look at it every day. It just gets hard with distant appointments slowly disappearing from sight as I fill more pages. Hoping this more structured way will help me keep track of those things better while not losing the joy of jotting down a quick thought without caring how it looks on the page.

So interestingly. My XPS 15 had an extra wire attached to the antennas. But when I took of the cables from the old unit one of the connectors broke so I had no choice but to just try to boot with this one lol. But it totally worked! Didn't even have to install new drivers

  • @TylerMiller

So I write in the normal stuff we have every week. Girls have dance, other classes, church services. Etc. I also write down if I remember what we had for dinner. Then I can go back through and see what we liked didn't like for future meal planning. I also write in appointments.

I have this exact frozen screen with starburst line patterns, too. I have called Amazon customer service about it, and the 'best' recourse would be to trade it in. FOR A WHOLE $5.00 ! I replaced the battery last night, and can not resolve the issue, trying the same steps you also tried. I think I will give AMZ customer service one more call, and see if I can get some sort of resolution before I give up completely. :( (and I do mean I will give up on Amazon altogether, mostly because I am upset about their stance on the NLRB, which feels very C. Montgomery Burns-ish to me)

Hi Tyler! I loved this planner format that you’ve lined out in this video, and I’m considering adopting it myself! I do have one question: Where did you get that 2024 pocket calendar that you used to create the lines for your week view? I want to get one for 2024, but can’t find it anywhere on the Field Notes Web site. Did it come with the notebook, or did you find it somewhere else? Thank you!

I use 3 notebook system, a planner, a journal, a memory keeper/creative one. so, I have a stash too, but too many notebooks give me overwhelm, so I keep it strictly limited at a time, so I don't loose information. I made a video on my lineup system too.

New subscriber. Thanks for the video, Tyler! As a fellow guy, I want to keep a small notebook in my pocket. I'm just hung up over where to store the pen. LOL! I've looked at purchasing smaller pens, but not sure how well they fit the length of the small notebook (if that makes sense). :) Also, do you use paper/analog ONLY for your planning? Or do you have a hybrid system of Google calendar or such? I've found that while I love the idea of planners, I always tend to go back to the ease (and notification reminders) of Google calendar. Thanks again for taking the time to create this content!

Thanks for subscribing! I use a Pilot G2 pen and just keep it in one of my front pockets and sometimes keep my planner in my front pocket with it, or sometimes in a back pocket. I do mostly paper for my planning, but I will put appointments, bigger planned events, etc on my phone just so I have reminders that interrupt my day, especially if it's like a doctor appointment or something haha.

Great video Tyler! I am more about consistency than anything. Like, I know their is a list of books I would like to finish in the back of my mind. But I know staying consistent is more important. However, I know I am going to have days where it doesn’t happen or can’t happen due to other factors. For example, I knew I was going to be too tired from running errands downtown yesterday by the time I got back but don’t let it derail my progress. Same with Duolingo or language learning in general. Things come up and I have to at least take one day off a month but might change it to two days in the near future depending on my needs.

  • @TylerMiller

I've had a lot of red days in February....haha. Been a busy month, but I look to settle back in to a more regular reading schedule here for the rest of the month. We spent a few weeks doing some major decluttering and cleaning that was long overdue.

  • @MDobri-sy1ce
    @MDobri-sy1ce5 ай бұрын

@@TylerMiller I had a few red days as well lol. I either didn’t feel good or I wanted to finish up the Duolingo skill tree early. I was getting tired of practice lessons. However, as of last night I can say, I have finished Swedish on Duolingo but was disappointed get a “Congratulations!” Or “You did it!” It was more like, “Well, you’re done!” Oh, well I am still happy about it. However, I am planning on getting back onto reading after that 4 day hiatus. I have been reading the’36 Hour Day’ by Nancy Mace. The book is about Dementia and Alzheimer Care. I am reading the books because my grandma has Alzheimer’s and runs in the family. I am nearing the end of the book. I am on the prevention section.

I agree with lots of those points as well Tyler. In my opinion, a lot of the OG KZreadrs are getting burnt out, getting tired of appealing to an algorithm, and pushing products. And maybe feel disingenuous. Also, they have businesses and families. Furthermore, everything starts to feel the same with over saturation so creativity is lost while appealing to marketers.

Yeah the very thing they started out loving has become a chore. Now instead of just making a video they have to think about brand deals and sponsor slots and if people will receive it well etc etc. I watched a video from the channel HINDZ today talking about how creator/youtuber life is the new 9-5. Crazy stuff lol

I enjoy your content. Here is my personal opinion take it or leave it. Your old clean cut look with great beard gives a fresh look that is a positive feature to your quality content. I think messing with that...growing hair long and covering face with thick glasses messes with that. All else being equal, from a purely KZread perspective, consider the fresh clean cut modern haircut with a well groomed beard. Additionally, people like consistency...they relate to the person, his look and persona....even while the content changes...I wouldn't mess with the person they have grown to know and love.

I'm dealing with accommodative esotropia and contacts have been proved to be causing too much strain on my eyes causing them to turn in even more and give me headaches. As far as the hair and beard - man I'm over trying to put on a pretty face that's attractive to the masses. People can take it or leave it like you said. I do have a haircut scheduled for a trim tho. 😂 But glad you enjoy the content 😁

  • @gentlewolf

@TylerMiller you are correct Tyler about you being you but if your on KZread you want views...thats the business model...if the good looks help and you want the best results that helps regardless....Regarding contacts...you can put them on just for the video shoot itself and nothing else....you still wear glasses 99.9% of the time

one thing i started this year is a marble jar. i got the idea from atomic habits by james clear (that book is worth every penny), in the book he frames good and bad habits as being like a vote for or against the person you want to be. so i got a big 10 liter jar from marshall's and then went on amazon and bought 3000 marbles. and so now every time i do something that's a vote for the man i want to be, i put a blue marble in the jar. every time i do something that's a vote for the man i don't want to be, i put a red marble in the jar. its pretty good way to gamify the self-improvement. its also great for encouragement because i can always look over at the jar and get a visual indication of progress.
