This is interesting, very informative video. Ive always suspected that the gut biome can have an effect on our brains' functionalities. Covering topics like the skins' ability to absord what is directly applied is extremely interesting to me too. I've also started my fibre journey over the last few years and trying to cut out sugar, it's going so much now. Also trying some different pre/pro & peribiotics which seem to definitely be helping.

It sounds like singing might really improve your gut health as it combines breath-work which improves blood flow with mindfulness and reducing stress as well as massaging the gut

Summary of the articles and videos I come across say that prebiotics and probiotics are bad if you have intestinal bacterial overgrowth. They claim that your body already has too much bacteria so you're just feeding it more and you need to starve the bad bacteria. Could you address this? TIA

I suffered IBS symptoms for 4 years and my doctor could not fix it. After watching many videos on KZread and found one video which said alot of GI Doctors mistakenly diagnosed parasites w/ IBD so i decided to deworm with “Fugacar” pill manufactured by Johnson & Johnson. 36 hours later, all my IBS symptoms went away and my gut is back to normal now.

As a clinical laboratory scientist, I adore when you said “If you’re a freak like me that just loves nerdy, science-y stuff…” 😂 I’ve tested my dogs microbiome several times since learning she has IBD and antibiotic responsive diarrhea! I love your videos.. thank you for sharing!

The only sugar I ever eat is birthday cake. I used to eat no sugar and than was fine most of the time, but I was always sad when there was a birthday and I could not have any cake. I do not have much of a sweet tooth anymore (used to eat sweets every half hour years ago), but I still felt left out. So now I have a small piece of B-day cake when it is someone's birthday. It is a great rule for me because it is not like there is b-day cake every day, but I can still look forward to a treat now and then. I only eat one piece.

Cheese, ham, salami, and often olives also are fermented foods which contain alive "good for your gut" microbes. Coffee and bread also are fermented, but the bacteria have been killed during the production process. Certain beers do contain alive yeast. Most beers and almost all wine have all yeast removed.

just wanted to share here, after 5 months of "IBS free" life, mine came back. the thought that I am "cured" from IBS was just a myth in my head. I felt my whole self again for that 5 mos. and now, im scrolling google and youtube again finding how to do it all over again. really really frustrating, the anxiety that brought me here. waking up each day knowing I will be bloated, constipated and in pain again. I guess, I just need to stick to a ritual from now on, and not just daydream that i"m out with IBS already. Will try your suggestions here.

Hi, I want to tell you how I got cured of irritable bowel syndrome. I was sick for 4 years, tried many treatments, and could not cure myself. I was helped by the method of doctor Datis Kharrazian, which I read about in the blog "How I Cured My Irritable Bowel Syndrome by Brandon Pearce" He was also sick for a long time and was able to cure himself thanks to this method. The idea is that people with IBS have an ill vagus nerve and it needs to be stimulated for a while to get back to normal. The method consists of stimulating the base of the tongue by pressing the back side of the toothbrush and causing the urge to vomit (but only the urge, vomiting is unnecessary, just a few tears came out). Usually 2-3 touches per time and doing it more often. I did every hour and in 2 weeks the diarrhea and bloating went away. You can google the blog "How I Cured My Irritable Bowel Syndrome by Brandon Pearce" for more information. Or Dr. Datis Kharrazian Also, BPC 157 helped me a lot with my ulcers. I am not a doctor and can't give you advice on treating yourself, but it saved my life and I hope it helps you too.

There is so much science on dysbiosis now. It is all about fiber, pre and probiotics. Changing up the bacteria is key. Try supplementing with different types of fiber (a fraction of what is recommended) then stop. I noticed a big difference.

Hello Sophie I'm desperately trying to heal my gut. I was hoping you could answer a question. Are you eating a FODMAP DIET for IBS. ? I see that you eat a few foods on the list of DO NOT EAT FOODS, Broccoli, Hemp Seeds, Beans etc.

Every plant based diet will require a regular bowel cleansing: So, take at least every second day early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil in order to prevent an intestinal blockage, for in the case that you will eat a lot of fruits or vegetables your large intestine will be really filled and you will remark this one occasionally unpleasant, this especially during the night.

Thanks Sophie for sharing , i was also struggling digestion since 2020 , but i discovered on may 2022 that the entire of my good gut bacteria have been wiped out by antibiotics in the food specially meat , eggs and milk , since then i started using healthy organic food alongside with probiotics , and again my digestion became healthy again , so anyone struggling with digestion issues , the problem is the food u eat . Fix what u put in ur mouth first , then everything u will be normal .
