  Her grace and beauty made her the best Gymnast in the World for a decade! It's kind of funny that I read an article calling her the weakest link in the Russian Team before her first Olympics! Man, did that guy completely get it wrong!

  This video montage is by FAR the BEST EVER created in the Gymternet Universe. And Produnova is also by far the most badass gymnasts to ever graced the Sport. I think this montage might be older than the 2006 date it was posted here, and every now and then I catch myself re-watching it!

  Beautiful tribute. I am so glad that someone in the media took the time to cover a bit of her victory and backstory. To me, Lilia was the true soul of women's gymnastics that year, and that gold was well deserved. Loved seeing athletes from Russia and Belarus supporting her too.

  she was sublime. right up there with some of the greats like shaposhnikova and mukhina. i’d say her and aleftina pryakhina were the best soviets to never be widely recognized due to being inconsistent.

  Hi. At that time, this was amazing but almost 100 years after it looks silly and simple. What year did gymnastics become really complicated and cool, not silly to look at? What summer olympics did they really start changing it? Thank you. God bless, Revelation 21:4

  Iconic!!!She was and still is really original,to me ; acrobatic but flexibile and always original combos. There are few tributes about her and her teamates - this one is phenomenal!! thank you Levlava!!Wish ,there were about videos like this about that era! Not to mention Leonid Arkayev,behind all this :)

  What spoiled that for me was yet again American commentators cannot give credit where it's deserved with out mentioning and showing American gymnasts. It was about LILIA not them

  His name was Alois Hudec from Czechoslovakia. He won a gold medal for his performance :)
