    Very good. I thought about the same thing, but using collet instead. This way no need to disassemble the bar.

    What type of collet did you use? I search collet and a lot of things come up.

  • @davetastik

    I returned the items to Lowes. I was looking at the tom platz appliance and came up with a prototype that you don't have to disassemble the bar. Costs about 15 bucks. I have to tweak it a little. I tested it out and I think it is one of the most comfortable squat assistance appliance. I wanted to thank you for you video. You gotta me started on a course that I can now do heavy leg work at my house.

    @@cLcs I'm going to try a 1.5 inch split ring hanger and a 3/4 inch threaded pipe (1ft long) x2

  • @TylerTheCompiler
    @TylerTheCompiler13 күн бұрын

    @@ash24480how did it work out for you? I’m going to try the 1.5” split ring too but it only takes a 3/8” threaded bolt/rod. That might be ok. Also it’s for my smith machine so I can easily remove the split ring. Thx for the idea!!

  • @davetastik
    @davetastik3 жыл бұрын

    I was very impressed with your theory. I went to Lowes and bought the 3/4" parts you suggested. It turns out that almost every Olympic bar is 1 and 1/8 to 1 and 1/4 inches. A 3/4 inch bar is very rare and is normally used for women or children. That bar is not designed to handle a lot of weight. Please specify in the future that people should measure the bar diameter. the most people don't have vernier calipers. They can take one of the end of and measure with a ruler or tape. Lowes doesn't appear to have 1 1/8. Looks like I will have to use 1 and 1/4 inch and some sort of shim on the inside.
