MinstrelSurfer { MovieMusicals }

I have been a fan of 'MUSICALS' from childhood and just love to share some of the fabulous song and dance numbers from the best films of this kind. Here you will find talented artistes the like of which we will rarely see again. We call it 'Hollywood's Golden Age' for that reason. Here is Music, Dance and Performances to lift the spirit!

Some of the films are hard to come by now and I am delighted to include a few clips that many viewers will not have seen before. Please join me and my subscribers in this feast of good songs, voices, dances and fun!

    The coordination and athleticism is amazing! I was watching this on TCM this morning and to be perfectly honest I'm not a huge fan of musicals or this type of thing, though I am a huge classic film buff, this just floored me! I was thinking "damn this guy was talented and athletic beyond words"

    But here , Paige was in good health , at the time younger than Dion currently is and at the peak of her voice. Dion is 56 now and not in the best patch of her life as we all know. The emotional charge behind her performance is what gave it beauty. Troubles affect voices , obviously. every singer has testified to that. It can lead to even total loss of the voice or its quality at least. Callas being a prime example of this.

    @mariadearco1913: Absolutely ❤! I uploaded it to my Facebook page and wrote this: Céline Dion's exquisite rendition of "Hymne à L’Amour" at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony was a true highlight. It's refreshing to see that not all musical performances at such events need to be brash or vulgar to captivate audiences. Thank you for keeping it elegant and classy!

    This lady is Brilliant!! I have watched Keeping up Appearances all this while, and heard that she could sing and is a Clasically trained Opera singer. I just never knew her Vocals was so really Beautiful. Thanks to KZread and who uploaded this for displaying this Gem of a person. She was just having fun with the song, and you can see she still has her Acting and Comedic timing just the same!!
