    I never had RoadRage until I moved to Roanoke. Worst drivers I've ever seen. It's like a bunch of Helen Keller, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles's on the road. My insurance agent said Roanoke has the highest insurance rates in VA which is sad. Loved the video

    Just did my '93. The pins instead of bolts are a poor design and a pain. Spray with brake cleaner before beginning. Then with WD 40 around the pins. The fine brake dust is very toxic wear gloves and a mask. A punch of the correct size will knock the pins out, not vise grips or a screw driver. They will punch out toward the truck. Actually they will punch out either direction. Put an old brake pad across the cylinder and press them in with the C clamp. It's a good idea to repack the bearings while rebuilding brakes. Also remove the cap on the master cylinder. That way when the cylinder is compressed you will not leak fluid or put too much pressure on the brake lines. I'm sure he is a good old boy shade tree mechanic, but hope these suggestions help a newbie. Pads are not difficult with a little forthought. The old style shoes with all the springs and levers are an invention of the devil.

    Dealing with crank no start on my '81 W250, manual. Truck has always been reliable with the exception of cold starts after a week which is understandable. It's sat the better part of the last year & upon going to starting it using fresh fuel in the carb nothing. Pulled #1 plug & no spark. Checked my coil have voltage & primary & secondary coils are good.

  • @DeadReckon
    @DeadReckon4 ай бұрын

    The electronic ignition box may be faulty, the only way to really tell since you're not getting spark but are getting coil voltage is to swap it out. I've linked some new ones below, but I've had so many issues with these owning a few of these trucks over the years I just converted my '83 to points ignition. www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1981,w150+pickup,5.2l+318cid+v8,1099920,ignition,ignition+control+module+(icm),7172

    Great cars but the way the valve seats are designed, one of them will almost certainly fail at some point. They still sell refabbed heads for these which correct the issue, must get if you plan on relying on this. Dropped valve seat can cause a lot of damage. They are otherwise really nice cars. I dunno,,,too many irritating things wrong with this car...not a bargain for $1 grand...a few years ago, I found a Park Ave, one-owner, with 90,000 miles on it...always garaged, paid $800 bucks for it. It needed a new set of tires, and the AC compressor was no good. But otherwise, it was excellent all the way. Now have 145,000 miles--no problems, and that 3800V6 apparently lasts forever. I guess you enjoy fixing things?
