I really really want to know more about Shahar Issac's personal life as a Jew, living in Israel and being an IDF soldier. As a new Christian, I battle with my anger with the Jews of today who deny Christ. Yet, here is a Jew...playing Peter. The effect of this cannot be lost upon Shahar personally. Another disconnect that I have is how people who claim to follow Chris will perpetuate war and killing of any kind. Like what is happening in Gaza. How to Christians wholeheartedly support Israel based on the teaching of Jesus. I see how it is politically expedient, but how do they reconcile? I do pray for the conversion of Jews, for all.

I hope your journey as a new Christian will be fruitful in time. We might feel disheartened by world events and people, but I encourage you to keep your focus on Christ. Pray that He can change hearts in His time.

Really great interview. Loved Tamar from that opening scene in season 1 episode 6 where she meets Jesus on the road and they speak Egyptian. Such a cool character the writers invented and Amber is so exceptional the writers had to bring her back and make her part of the group! And we are glad!!

Would you say the same about orthodoxy? If so, then according to you, there was no true Christian faith until Martin Luther came on the scene in 1517. All the early Christians were Catholics, we have their writings and know what they believed - are you going to claim they are not Christians as well?

God Bless you Miss Williams! All of your work is monumental to all of your Chosen fans! Please know btw that I pray for all of the cast and crew every morning! Please also know that I love you! I have a request and perhaps just an fyi. I have difficulty understanding everything you say within the show because of the heavy accent of your character. I must have watched every episode at least 15 or 20 times and still cannot grasp all of your words. This is not a criticism at all, just something I think you should be aware of! This ole Missouri granny loves The Chosen and doesn't want to miss one single word! Thank you dear heart, for your beautiful portrayal of Tamar!🥰

I love the scene between Matthew and Jesus regarding repentance. Our culture often prioritizes forgiveness to the extreme of neglecting the other side of the coin, which is repentance. It was beautiful to see The Chosen show both sides and the difficulty in taking ownership of how we may have hurt others as well as the challenge of letting go of past hurts. It also shows that forgiveness is a gift, as noted in this interview. Sometimes folks who hurt others will give flippant apologies and get angry if the other person does not forgive right away rather than being truly repentant and humble.

The same-sex couple ‘blessing’ causes a number of questions. Why is it couple blessing if “People are blessed; not the union”? What is a homosexual couple seeking by asking for a blessing? What is the Church offering in response? What is the Holy Spirit called for and what is exactly being blessed? What is a spiritual purpose of such a ‘blessing’ and what sort of a particular help it intends to provide? Love and acceptance can make miracles of soul transformation, and Pope Francis' vision on the same-sex unions seems to be about love and acceptance. Yet, the same-sex couple blessing would make sense if the Church dumps viewing the same-sex relationship per ser as a sin. Without that, such a 'blessing' appears conflicting and self-contradictory. The entire issue of the homosexuality as such and the sin does not look straightforward at all. For example, some people refer to Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them". Does this mean that about 4% of human population should be now "put to death"? Would it be a proclaimed Christian way of love and acceptance? Would it be compatible with the words of our Lord: "Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone" (John 8:7)? Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 6:9,10 was talking specifically about "men who have sex with men" with the intention to just satisfy their lust, but said nothing about homosexuality as such. The Holy Scripture condemns sexual lust in all its appearances - ‘traditional’ and ‘pervert’, but says nothing at all specifically about homosexuality and same sex people, who want to live together in love and faith. Nevertheless, this unlikely defends the incompatibility of the same-sex couple blessing with the current Church doctrines and policies. Faithfully yours, bishop Vincent Berg.

6:26 I am realizing recently that I am a lot like Simon Peter, I have mean to people and placed a target of hate or dislike towards them even though it’s not about them and it’s not their fault, it’s really about me 😢😅. And now I see why people see me a certain way, but they don’t get, because my explanations seem selfish😢.

I love how Shahar refers to his character of Simon as "I." It's like he has become that character. That character and role has become part of him to a point that he doesn't really even differentiate! I love that Shahar and Noah are both so thoughtful in their responses. It's almost as if they really have become these people and have taken the responsibility of answering as if they really were. They take these interviews seriously. I think that's part of the reason Shahar has not been in as many. He wants to do it right. I'm so glad these guys are cast for these parts and that Shahar is back and can play his part. We could never have another Simon!

I read Shadowplay several years ago and found the arguments very interesting. I enjoy these insights into the work that make them so much more enjoyable. Interestingly, I read a book more recently that translates to He Goes In Search Of Freedom (Libertá Va Cercando) by Maria Soresina that makes Gnostic Christianity the hidden key to understanding Dante's Divine Comedy. The parallels of religious oppression between the two times in the two countries of England and Italy are striking.
