    Great combo, love the varied instruments you use. The early jazz bands often used guitarists and or banjo players and less often a violin. I also liked that you have a vocalist as hearing the lyrics adds so much to the performance. The overall sound seems very authentic to me. Keep up the good work!

    As 'Believers' my youngest son & I performed this as a duet at my dad's funeral in early 2018! The pianist being a lifelong style gospel rhythmical (Jazz Style) mate of ours & he just excelled in this 2/4 timing ! I have it recorded on CD!

    This deserves some credit and more widespread appreciation. It has something of everything. The tones, the arrangement is so different. Even the words have been miss-mashed.... I love it. {My thanks to @sylviachapman2345 for explaining the Tuba operation. I thought I am going mad..... !}

    I woke up this morning (hey, that sounds like the blues!), and had a fragment of a melody going through what's left of my mind. I finally figured out it was "Patrol Wagon Blues." Until today, I only knew of two recordings of it: the original, by the great Red Allen, and a "live" version recorded in the 1970s by the estimable Portena Jazz Band of Buenos Aires. When I entered the title into the Search box here at KZread, I was surprised to see several versions of this fairly obscure number. When I scrolled down and found Spats Langham's version, I had to hear it! Spats and I had a somewhat sentimental reunion at the recent International Classic Jazz Party in Whitley Bay, England (Nov 2023). Spats was in fine fettle, both musically and personally. He sounds terrific here. as does the small but mighty Hot Combination. (Kudos to the bass clarinetist, whom I don't yet know, but hope someday to meet). I'm glad I discovered this gem of a performance.
