I know it's been a while, but what's the difference between an API wrapper and an SDK? For a concrete example, consider the Node.js packages googleapis and aws-sdk-js. Why isn't it called google-sdk-js or awsapis?"

Seing the REFID I can calculate that if the request costs 5 cts, this program did cost the scammer between 2190$ and 2300$

Fun video, but a warning to people thinking about doing this. IANAL, but most likely you’re breaking a bunch of laws by abusing the system with intent to cause harm. I don’t think it makes a difference in the face of law if the target is a scammer or not, it is your actions as a script kiddie that are breaking the law. Just be careful with these things, you don’t want to commit a felony just by fooling around. Vigilante justice isn’t protected by law.

Im surprised the server accepted that many requests without freezing up lol. Would be hilarious if it were SaaS charging per request incurring additional costs.

it really bothers me when people use these shorted URL's. i tell legit businesses I ignore anything with a shortened URL as it can indicate a scam....it's amazing how angry they get

Funniest part of this video is dude thinks an incognito browser is safe. Didn’t even mention using anonymizer or vpn. Probably got pwned making this worthless attempt at paying back scammer. Or more probably, he just made up the whole thing himself for clicks.

Too bad it didn’t actually do anything. They aren’t getting charged for using their own test algo (wonder why nobody questions your basic assumption). Also, you barely taught anything about python in the nearly 9 mins of wasted video

The scammer is using a legit site to check the card number. By doing what you did, you only incurred costs to the legit site. I.e the scammer takes your card number tries to do a transaction on a legit site with it...usually a charity site or something like that. They then pass the return codes to you. Once they get a card number that works they keep that one for nefarious purposes.

How would anyone have a hard time distinguishing between the real and fake ones after? The formatting is very obviously, the scammer just has to filter for yahoo-mail-adresses and discard the ones that start with some name followed by a single digit.

Or, it's not attached to a genuine card interpreting system & it just gives fake declines to get multiple cards from the one victim.

    - If you have ∞ number of programmers you have a ∞ number of incompetent programmers :) - The whole purpose of all equipment manufacturers is to provide you with Windows drivers. - More customization is nice for the normies, bit it simply means, that the chance on bugs is proportionately higher. - You can move windows drives like USB drives, the only exception is the drive with the OS. - You clearly never participated in code reviews in a software development projects. The number of eyes on the code is irrelevant, the specific detailed competence counts. - My windows systems don't get slow over the years, because I use "Advanced System Care" and I use "Ubuntu Cleaner" for Ubuntu/Linux. However I had Manjaro running out of space after 4 years in 2023, simply because it had many GBs of useless journal files :) My oldest VM is Windows XP installed and activated in March 2010. In 2024 it works exactly like in March 2010 :) It survived 2 VBox owners; 3 desktops and 4 CPUs :) :)

Pretty sure the only thing u flooded was their server. Not a scammer but if I was Id definitely just build a fake card processing app that always declines with errors so that you keep putting in new cards while I save em. 12 cards later and hell I got ur cards, ur partners cards, Uncle Jimbos card, a post dated check from Nana...
