For young professionals, this is a show where we talk about career experiences, entrepreneurship, business and investments. The main aim is to show that there is more than one way to be successful than just climbing the corporate ladder. Every week we interview a new expert and get their advice on how to grow in your career. The show is based in South Africa.

2 ✌️ This video is a gem! Your advice is very clear and easy to understand. I'm nowhere near articles yet. I'm still in my first year of undergrad. A couple of things I would like to ask is: 1. Which are the best platforms to apply for jobs (i.e., which websites)? 2. How long before the end of your articles should you begin applying for jobs? 3. How many interviews did you and your colleagues go through before landing your first jobs post-articles?
I’m glad it was helpful. A lot of the answers to your questions will change by the time you get to the end of your articles. Let’s catch up then on these answers
Thank you much for this information
I’m glad it resonated with you 👌🏽
I moved to Dubai and I agree, there is pay cuts with CAs and cost of living in Dubai is much higher. Specialists get paid more, there’s opportunities for business in Dubai but there’s more opportunities in South Africa for us to do business as well. The reason it may seem like business is “happening” in Dubai is because many businesses are built on credit but a lot of businesses are struggling. Cost of living in Dubai is getting worse day by day in Dubai so although it may seem “cheaper” than US but the inflation is pushing to be same as US. There’s also lots to consider around schooling for families with kids etc. You are right the people culture is also getting more Ruthless and there’s cons every where because every one needs to make a buck.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. Would be great to chat more if you are interested

I had the pleasure of calling Dominque a tutor! She was one of the few diligent teachers who took the time to help me! It’s good to hear her story and growth! Definitely a trailblazer and destined for greatness in any of her endeavours!
Thanks for watching Darren. She definitely made an impact on you.
In the US, most blind kids are in public school, nowadays. The school for the blind in the Boston area is mostly for students who are blind, but, also, have cognitive issues.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Kevin
2. I have learned that I need to be disciplined and learn how to deal with disappointments. Thanks for this, it helps us get some insight into the options after university and the psychology needed for the options (in this case being a venture capitalist).
