I found a 1870's hubbard and curtis 9inch surface rusted draw knife at an antique shop for 15 bucks. Only the top half of the hubbard and curtis was showing before re-surfacing. Has original handles :) The marking is still there, but i'm afraid to sharpen it :( its been my favorite tool for a long time. I'm a machinist first, but tiller when i can in summer. There is absolutely nothing like chasing a ring when backing a bow with a properly sharpened drawknife.

I've got my Dads, and l've never sharpen it and it like a razor blade. Don't know when he sharpen it but he passed away 1981, and l'm still using it.

I can smell the mold growing already without a moisture barrier. Hopefully he spent all the extra money on real wood lap siding just to run it the wrong way then have to caulk and paint every seam

Depending on the environment and how well its sealed it may not even need a moisture barrier. Just saying.

Siding goes the other way so rainwater washes down to the ground and not into the connecting groves like your.doing
