@@PeterByker Actually, I caught the line about “Chicks dig it,” and I thought it was an Easter Egg for Canadian music nuts. You know, like, a plug for Chixdiggit. I didn’t know it was in reverse! Also, the line mentioning, “Saskadelphia” refers to a Tragically Hip album with that title that was denied by the band’s American label because they didn’t understand the humour. I think Saskadelphia came before the movie though. I know of FUBAR because a German friend of mine was watching it on his phone during a break several years ago and I recognized the Canadian accents and wondered what he was watching. I haven’t seen the whole movie though, so I’ll look for it. Thanks!

@@musicisajourney No, Thank YOU! You are a rare breed on KZread, amazingly accessible, and so generous with your knowledge. The legend of FUBAR gets an update at theatres this coming September 6, 2024, with "Deaner '89", a prequel of sorts for the hard partier performed by Paul Spence, and a host of Canadian comedy legends! I'm beyond stoked for it, cheers!

@@PeterByker Hey, thank you so much for the kind words. I like this side of the Internet where strangers are kind to one another and share ideas, music, and movies. I’m going to see if FUBAR is here now and get it cued up!

@@vinylshawn4757 I think I remember you saying that about 54-40. Maybe a bit similar to R.E.M. in some ways. Yeah, I accidentally heard a bit of a song from National Velvet’s debut and now I want the album. But even used it’s twice the price of a regular CD.

@@alltheworldsastage899 Thanks, Steve! I just watched your video for Morten’s contest. I liked but I drew a blank on a comment. I’m out of power after a four-hour class with kindergarteners and only 4 hours of interrupted sleep.

Hi Peter - I am heading back to Toronto tomorrow, and then leaving again soon after. But, I will get to Doug's contest this week. I am familiar with National Velvet, but, I have never talked about them. Good choice with 54-40! Excellent entry 🙂
