We had a red 3.0 fwd fusion, it was a 2006. Heated leather front seats, it was a nice car! Sadly the frame was rotten so we replaced it with my now 07 Pontiac g6 which to be quite honest, i like it a bit more than the fusion. Both good cars though

Hi, do you need to do wheel alignment after rotating your tires? I've asked mechanics and they said yes, and I see that your front tires are unevenly wearing. Isn't that a sign of bad alignment? Do you think it's necessary?
Hi there! So, it is not necessarily required to get an alignment every time you rotate your tires. However, if you are noticing shaking or weird vibrating at any speed, pulling to one side of the other, or a crooked steering wheel when you are driving straight, you ABSOLUTELY you should get an alignment ASAP. Prolonging a needed alignment can accelerate the wear of your tires, along with other suspension/braking components, and can also pose a safety risk if left for too long. And yes, you are correct about the uneven wear. That is also a sign of a needed alignment. However, those mechanics are referring to one outside edge of the tire compared to the other, for instance. My tires are all worn pretty evenly across the flat plane of the tread. It's just that my front tires were much more worn down than the rears, and that's because I have a FWD vehicle, and I let this rotation interval go wayyyyyy too long lol. If it's a 2WD vehicle, typically the wheels that receive power from the engine wear down faster due to the increased load. Combine that with braking (weight transfer to the front) along with steering, and you will see even MORE wear compared to the rear. A FWD car does all 3 of those things lol. I admit, I also drive my car relatively hard, so I was definitely expecting to see the front tires being much more worn down than the rears. I hope that answers your question! 3:13 This closer look reveals some "dry rot" there too. Most likely older tires. Always check your tires date of manufacturer. It's a DOT code and the last 4 digits are the week and the year. An example is: 3422 ....that's the 34th week of 2022. Good to know when buying tires sold as new.
You are absolutely right! Yeah, I have known that they had some dry rot for a while now. I am not condoning to anybody that you keep tires on that have evidence of dry rot. However, money was really tight when I filmed this video (as it pretty much always is in this economy right lol) so I just kept these on until the bitter end. These tires are just about 6 years old. My DOT code was 3518, so they were manufactured in the last week of August in 2018. 😅 That's really not THAT bad, but based on how these tires looked, I absolutely pushed them to their limit, and then some lol. Yes, unless you get the rotations for free if you bought new tires with a certain shop (for instance, Town Fair Tire does that) I highly recommend that you just do this yourself if you can. And yes, having a lease is a completely different story. Makes perfect sense to have them do it every time you get an oil change. This video is geared towards someone that owns an old ass hooptie like me. 😂 Don't worry my friend, one day you will own something that you can tinker with! I have faith in you though, bro! I know you could do it. You just have to be careful, especially for your first time. And I appreciate that buddy! I Hate sunroofs. They always end up leaking and I don't need to roast in my car in Miami. So the fact that the highest priced model doesn't have one is a definite plus!

Here's an important thing to be aware of, with this model. I have the same car, SEL awd. DO NOT use the spare tire that comes with the car. It does not match the diameter of the tires on the car, and you'll destroy your car. It should be illegal, that they included it with the car. Luckily, i had a tire plug kit with me and was able to patch my tire, to get me home. As soon as i removed the pathetic spare, i could see it didn't match. But i could easily see an unexperienced person installing it, assuming it must be okay, as they supplied it from the factory.

What size is the filter wrench? 🥲 Literally the only specs I was trying to look up. Previous owner must've cranked down on it
@@CamoGirlPlayz I’m sorry to hear that! To be perfectly honest, I’m not exactly sure about the size of a filter wrench you would need. However, a simple tip could be to use a handgrip pad (the same one that your grandma would use to open up a jar of salsa, haha) Or, if you are really down to the wire, you can take a long sharp screwdriver and very carefully spike it through the filter by tapping the end of it with a hammer until it comes all the way through to the other side. Then you can use the leverage from the screwdriver to break the filter loose. I hope that helps, and good luck!
