I hate this lens. There is a LOT of copy variation for a modern lens from the 2020's era. I have tried 4 of them and they've all had their own unique issues. It does seem that there is some variation in the quality of the glass mixture, and some variation in the shaping and or positioning of the lens elements. For instance, my current copy is very clear and colorful but has substantial CA and tons of coma wide open at 28mm. It is soft at the edges until f/8 and more so on the left side, and, the whole left side of the field is soft at 70mm focused at infinity. For a 3,000 lens I was disappointed. Unfortunately, B&H denied my return and I refused to pay them for the lens... Now, I don't blame Canon because I know what B&H is up to, they're dirty NYC thieves... They go through lenses and cherry pick the good ones to keep for themselves. They repackage store demo models and sell them online for $100 off like its a huge deal. And they repackage returned models and do the exact same. They let their employees take lenses home and use them then sell them as new. They do not value the product or the industry and take liberties with their business at every turn. Just because it is "usable" doesn't mean it is worth $3,000. I don't think these fools at B&H understand what the extra $2,000 over a typical 24-70 2.8 is supposed to buy you. I have loads of vintage zooms and none of them are this poorly made. I would avoid the Canon RF 28-70 f/2 L.

I switched to Sony mirrorless cameras way back in the day when all the other brands were ridiculing mirrorless. I came straight over from Minolta 35mm lol! The Sony A mount shared the same mount as my native Minolta glass at the time. People said that mirrorless was a poser camera and would never make it onto a professional tool. It’s been interesting to see that Sony disrupted the whole camera industry with mirrorless tech and now the other brands are trying to catch up. I built out my Sony E mount kit pretty well and enjoy it! People also used to criticize the limited E mount options of glass, and now that shoe is on the other foot as well. Since Canon had to make an all new mount, now they have much fewer options and Sony is the most supported ecosystem on the market. Where things are at now, I think all the big brands have compelling cameras and your point of shooting on whatever restricts your content creation the least is well said. I would honestly like to build out a whole second kit with Canon and have all the things! Looking forward to an A9iii vs R3 comparison 👍

It's funny you could have at least points #1, 2 and 5 to some extent even in DSLRs with the help of *Magic Lantern* (with certain cameras, including 5D\5DII\5DIII, 7D and 70D, the full list is on ML website) over a decade ago... 1) ML has been showing focal length in LiveView (obviously not in OVF) since 2008... 😊 BTW R-cameras only show FL with RF lenses (EF\EF-S and, I assume, third parties for DSLRs are not supported). 2) With ML you can have two *ExpoPresets* , which are switched between one another with an assigned button too. Handy feature. 5) *Rack Focus* and *Focus Stacking* also present in ML. Of course, for shooting only. You need to stitch the result elsewhere.

One main concern is stabalization. I'm shooting events, photos, and video, but I noticed some of my footage is shaky. The obvious solution is using a gimbal for video, but then that takes away my handling of the camera for photos.
Great advice
Glad it was helpful!
This is helpful, thanks for sharing!
So welcome, thanks for watching!
Do you know a good place to find a photo editor to outsource to?
I use the team over at Honest Editors and they've been great, but there's plenty of other options out there too!
Hiya! How do you capture videos and photos during the couple exiting the aisle after ceremony? :) with just you? Thanks
I alternate between burst image shooting (that I can use to create animations to use for video) and straight video capture - between the two, it's plenty of footage to get the full exit!
@@joshrexford oh i see. Okay okay. Gotcha! Thanks for the idea :)
