Was this song written especially for this? I've never heard it performed anywhere else.

I remember my parents recorded this for me on our VHS. I think one of the airings was on Halloween night... "Disney's Halloween Scream" was on after it if I remember rightly. I played the shit out of that VHS, and even converted it to a cassette tape, so even the static sounds familiar. I don't have either, any more, but I downloaded this clip years ago and I've had it as an MP3 ever since. Wonderful to hear on long trips.

I'm glad you enjoy the video. It's a shame that T-Mobile seems to want to take down any instances of this video. If it happens, I will post it elsewhere. Probably Vimeo. I have an upscaled 4K version and it looks fantastic.

The blonde lead signer is Zoe Mirkovich and the T-Mobile spoke person in the middle, at the end, is Carly Foulkes. But I really wish I knew who the black signer is. Her voice is fantastic. But I can't find a trace of her. I hope she is still singing.

I was a child of the 60's and 70's and grew up in Orlando. I was fortunate enough to be able to see Michael Iceberg a bunch of times. I also worked in the Magic Kingdom in the early 80's and would catch his show whenever I could. I'm sure I wasn't the only person that was sad when he left. He gave us some great entertainment and great memories for sure.

I grew up over by Roselle Rd. and Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg. I just love seeing the mall back when it was really hopping! Not that it isn't a happening mall still today, it has lost some anchor stores though since this was filmed. Thanks for appreciating the higher-res video. I'm glad I snagged a copy of it back when it was originally posted by T-Mobile. I'm really disappointed they took it off of their channel, but not the behind the scenes videos, which is odd. Perhaps it came down to a licensing issue, I'm not sure.

@@bill875 the anniversary of this commercial inspired me to visit the mall last week and vlog, which will eventually be up on the channel. After spending a couple years in an apartment in Rolling Meadows as a newlywed, after having the first kid we rented a small ranch house for 3 years off Roselle Rd. in the older part of Hoffman Estates. While the stay was short, I really enjoyed my time there and the neighborhood. And still drive by the house once and awhile. :-)

@@kayvonmansouri from what I recall from folks behind the scenes cell phone videos there were several run through before they settled on this one. So while it was meant to resemble a flash mob dance, it was far from it. But that was to be expected. Look into people's grainy 2011 cell phone videos it is nostalgia feels overload.

The first time I heard (Wendy) Fanfare.....it was a much more orchestrated version..deep strings, alot of delay on his voice......the song hit my soul, and though Ive seen just about every major 70s/80s rock band live and played in my own band for 50+ years, EVERYTIME I hear that song, it sends me to another place....like church on a great Sunday. I have it on his vinyl album He s an amazing talent, though a very deep man, with powerful emotions. I came to know him over the years ...see... my keyboard player...... and he.... used the same model Mellotron ( Chamberlain) and we got along great talking about them. A beautiful spirit his is.. God Bless You Michael. Maybe my favorite song of my life... FANFARE.
