Web of Stories - Life Stories of Remarkable People

Web of Stories - Life Stories of Remarkable People

Web of Stories - Life Stories of Remarkable People is an archive of the life stories some of the greatest people of our times who have influenced our world.

Web of Stories began as an archive of life stories told by some of the great scientists of our time. As the number of stories grew, it became obvious that some were on related topics and a web was slowly being created of connected stories. After a while, we also invited famous people outside the field of science to tell their life stories.

Our aim has been to provide an archive of stories from people who have influenced our world. Imagine, in a hundred years' time, future generations being able to watch people like Stan Lee, Doris Lessing or James Watson telling stories about their lives and their achievements.

Donald Sutherland was a nightmare to work with as well. Of course, that’s how it is in Hollywood - a difficult actress will be whispered about, but a difficult actor is considered a genius.

The dog is undersea seismic activity, the tail is the oceans. The wag is the atmosphere. We will find, in time, that ALL warming of the past 100 years has been caused by undersea seismic activity. We know already that ENSO (El Ninos) cause uplifts in global temperature, and we know that the Atlantic Multidecadel Oscillation (which is caused by volcanic activity itself) has been in a positive phase since around 1980 (raising recorded temps). The correlation between undersea seismic activity and warming is BETTER (r = 0.785) than the correlation of CO2 and temp (r = 739). According to the regression model, the odds that this high of a correlation occurring by chance is 0.00000000000000104%. The CO2 game is over, but the problem is that undersea seismic activity cannot be taxed. 91% of the world's volcanoes are under the sea. A 2011 census using a new method found more than 24,000. High-resolution radar data have now added more than 19,000 new ones. The vast majority (more than 27,000) remain uncharted by sonar. CO2 is NOT an issue. It is at 20 ppm, but as we are at 420 ppm, no more warming can be had by it - the 14 to 16 micrometre band is saturated. Alas, CO2 is highly taxable for governments, and the money game will continue to be played until we go well into cooling...which we will. By then it will be too late, and we will have spent trillions on something which doesn't exist when we could have spent it on lifting our fellow humans out of poverty. Funny old world, isn't it?

FR is an insufferable show off and a snob, and his scripts are compendiums of superficial smart Alec lines that are neither funny nor insightful. Personally, he has two modes: first sucking up to ingratiate himself and then, secondly, putting his prominent dupes down because he thinks will make him look cleverer than them. This was obviously learned in British school and university where third rate imitators of Oscar Wilde used to be churned out on a production line; FR is merely a very average example of them and it's shameful at his age that he never grew up. He took shots at my late mother in an article that were pure calumny for which I will not forgive him. I can stand neither the trite dialogue he wrote for Two For The Road nor Darling. Eyes Wide Shut is simply ridiculous. A simply awful man.

I will never understand why people criticize actresses trying to look good on camera. This is fairly standard practice. Actresses are often hired because of their beauty and it's part of their profession. An actress who insists on looking good in movies is a professional making sure she gives the very best to her audience. Directors, cameramen, and anyone else who whines about it is just being condescending and rude.

Both can be true at the same time: 1) Being rude to the crew is NEVER ok. 2) Extreme-wide lenses can make actors look unappealing.
