I'm a recording engineer in my city and record a lot of local bands. This channel is mostly about chronicling my guitar progress and making the occasional KZread Poop.

These songs are so much fun. I feel like the picking patterns are really weird and they force you to switch between wrist-motion and thumb-motion. And neeeeeeever. Coffee's my whole thing. I don't do coke so coffee is the only way I can keep up with 80's Sepultura haha.

God I would have loved that. Sadly none of the labels returned contact. I'm doing the whole 1-man thing, so everything is 100% on me...which is good because I did not have a budget. I spent $600 between the album artwork and getting Maiday to put on those amazing vocals as Ranni the Witch. So I wasn't about to sink another $1000 in for vinyl that I may not be able to move. I did do a few (like 8) vinyls on-demand via Kunaki, but they weren't up to the standard that I would sell. They were also too expensive so I just gifted them to a handful of friends. If something happens in the next few months where I am somehow able to sell enough digital copies or a label wants to back production, I would love to make that happen though.

So the funny thing is that I didn't really attempt an old-school mix (mostly because I'm on an E-kit). I was kind of worried that it was perhaps a bit too bassy and modern haha. Good to know. And yeah the Kemper! So I used an altered profile of a Marshall Valvestate 100V for the rhythm tracks. It's definitely "the sound" for Death tunes.

I don't remember exactly, I'd have to reopen the project file but here's what I remember: Neural DSP Gojira > Tube Screamer with volume and tone maxed, no drive > High-gain Amp #3 (pretty sure this is a 5150 III Stealth with 6L6 tubes) > Messiah Cab IR (which is an oversized Mesa 4x12 with a 57 angled on it). Pretty sure that the mids are slashed a good amount. You'll want to dial that in by-ear though depending on your pickups.

Oh man that'd be cool, but I'm actually not a great instructor. This is also a really weird solo and I don't think that there's truly a way to play it right 100%. I cut it into 4 chunks in my DAW and slowed it down so that I could try to make sense of it. There's some Wah pedal which obscures a lot of the notes and transitions. I probably learned it about 80% of the way and then had to use feeling to get the rest. Mike Scaccia was an amazing player, but you can tell that he was just flubbing around in D-minor pentatonic and harmonic minor scales. I hope that helps. A great starting point is to run pentatonic box scales on the 10th fret and then expand into harmonic minor/middle-eastern voicings. I wish I was more help but I don't really know music too well and I do a lot of this stuff by ear.

Suena andrajoso. Es genial para rock/metal de los 80... aunque no es el mejor para sonidos limpios. El altavoz incorporado también se distorsiona con bastante facilidad.

Acabó de comprarme la guitarra y realmente es espectacular es hermosa, cuando le pongo con mis efectos y el amplificador suena genial es hermosa!!. Me puedes decir está guitarras nomade son Made in Japan o Taiwan ya que en mi guitarra y eh visto en otras nomades que dice Taiwan, otra consulta de que año son estás guitarras nomades?? Realmente estoy feliz con mi nuevo juguete

Yeah it's one of the prototypes. I have a friend whose uncle worked for B.C. Rich in the mid-2000's, so he got a deal on it. Man though, he also used to have a 7-string Ignitor and that thing was wild.

You can though! Honestly the hardest part is getting the right-hand tight. I grew up with a lot of surf music so I'd recommend starting out playing stuff like Dick Dale or The Ventures. Once you crack that, you'll start flying.
