Scousers still blaming the police 35 years later. The police only fkd up a situation caused by LFC fans. They tried to deny Heysel and they still deny hillsborough. Nothing worse than a scouser

Howdy, American here. Learned about the disaster recently whilst browsing the Lost Media Wiki, fell down a rabbit hole and began reading about it, eventually moving on to videos. Your's has been the best I've found so far: I highly appreciate the additional context you provide regarding previous incidents the years prior. It's been absolutely wild reading about the investigations and YEARS of coverups by police. While it's absolutely infuriating that they were so focused on saving their own hides as opposed to the truth of what happened and justice for the dead and their families, I think what strikes me the most is the deep dehumanization of the victims. It's been deeply unsettling reading and watching videos about the disaster and seeing comments to this very day blaming the fans and calling them drunken and rowdy and all but saying they deserved it. It's revolting. Reading about how the city of Liverpool and its soccer fans had a reputation in the era of the disaster has also really struck a cord with me. I live near Detroit here in the U.S.A., a city that has a deeply infamous reputation for crime and violence. If a disaster like Hillsborough were to happen for any of our big sports teams over here people would be scrambling over eachother to help. I can't imagine that it was any different for the people of Liverpool back in the day, being smeared and treated as violent, lesser, as if they somehow deserve what happened to them, even though they're people just like everyone else. If I ever make it out to the UK someday, I'd like to visit the memorials for the 97 and pay my respects. Even an ocean and thousands of miles apart so much of what happened to them echoes for me here. I hope that with the years justice will continue to be done for them, and that they rest well. They deserved so much more out of this life, and from the people who were supposed to help things run smoothly that day. Allvrhr victims wanted was to go watch a game and have fun. Anyway, great vid. All the best, cheers.

In the 96/97 season he was the best I've ever seen - alongside, Messi 🙏🏻. He had 3½ years out because his cartlidges were like tissue and still came back as the best player on the planet and won a World Cup. He couldn't pass the ball like Messi and didn't have his vision but if you give him the ball he'd do 100m in 12 secs and plough through teams, he was feared by all and without injuries he'd be the 2nd best player ever and even with his injuries he's top 10 ever and probably the greatest 9 in football history. His career was similar to Van Bastens in many ways, the two greatest strikers ever and both quit early due to injuries. For me he's Brazil's greatest ever player and that's saying something, Pele was nowhere near as good as, R9. Pele is a myth... I witnessed Ronaldo with my own eyes. El phenomenon! The 2nd 🐐

I was only 10 at the time of this tragedy but even as a child when it was the main story on the news and they showed those images of the fans being crushed and lying on the pitch it was pretty surreal and you kind of understood what had happened just from the scenes and all the police that were there but for them to then try cover it up by falsely lying in the report about Liverpool fans rushing the gates and being drunk so that they could cover up the truth was just disgusting and I'm so glad that the club the fans and the families finally got the justice that they had fought and campaigned for for so long and cleared Liverpool of any wrong doing after so many years in this horrific event....jft 97 ynwa

The horrible thing is (apart from the fact that this happened at all - it shouldn’t have!) that cpr is almost useless on people with asphyxiation from crush injuries. There’s nothing left to inflate with breath. That people who just wanted to go to a football match should die in such an awful way is testament to the extreme disdain with which authorities treated all football fans back then - and Liverpool fans especially. As proven by the attempts to blame the fans in certain parts of the media and politics afterwards. RIP the 97. I’m not a Liverpool fan but settled down at my cousin’s house to watch the game that day as we both loved football. Those scenes will forever haunt me, and that’s just from tv. What the people went through who were there was pure horror. 💔

I really wish that America would present “Soccer” like the NASL or at least 90s MLS. Now it’s American European Football I really gave up on American soccer because of how Eurocentric and pretentious the culture is around it. It ridiculous to see people in Tulsa act like the are from the North of England or people in the stands wearing scarves in May in Miami.

The lying and covering up and changing stories was appaling, and then blaming the victims and doubling down in the face of true facts.Disgusting that NO one was held accountable. Media sucked too, spreading horrible lies.

Samuel etoo the striker. was better than r9. R9 is just a hype up player. If he didn't play for Brazil. He would be like any regular flashy player's. Etoo is better than R9.. If R9 played for the current Brazil team. He would like any regular flashy dribbling players. He never won a UCL.. Etoo is far better than R9. You guys love to hype these Brazilian players up. If R9 didn't play for Brazil, which had a lot of pack players. He would not have won the world cup. That you folks glamorize Soo much. Etoo played for a weaker team and beat R9 Brazil, in the confederation cup. Being the one goal scorer. Scoring the winner. Etoo beat R9 with El clasico between Barca and real Madrid. Etoo won back to back champion leagues. No body has done that. R9 never even won a Champions league. Yet you guys hype em up just because he was a magician with the ball and could wow people. Etoo was a scorer. He put the ball at the back of the net...

Despite this video being cleared of copyright for over a week, KZread retroactively hit sections of the Greece portion of the video, namely images and small amounts of edited footage used of the Final. I de idea to just trim these out instead of re-uploading. This is why that section of the video is missing/seems disjointed. I can only apologise for how this disrupts the flow of the video and hope you enjoy it despite this.

I desagree. Leverkusen has an european history, even got to CL final in 2002 and almost always have partecipated to EL or CL, Leicester before it's title was totally "unkown" in football's map, so to me, Leicester's tale is greater than Leverkusen.

I would argue Chelsea champions league run and win in 2012 is truly an underdog story. Last game of the group stages, chelsea could be eliminated by Valencia and sent to the europa league, they responded with a 3-0 win. Last 16 round, losing to Napoli 3-1. Even after a 2-0 comeback, Napoli scored again and now chelsea needs 2 more goals to win. They made 4-1 in extra time. Barcelona were the heavy favorites in the semis, somehow and someway chelsea wins 1-0 at home. Only to have barcelona score twice at the camp nou and a red card to terry. Ramirez scores out of nowhere and then torres!! Final, bayern munich in their own backyard! They score at the 83 minute just for drogba to save chelsea from a corner in the 89!. Cech saves a penalty in extra time, then proceed to guess right in all 5 penalty directions and saves 2. Chelsea wins it. Against all odds since the very beggining

Hillsborough was an example of the police and other official departments burying the truth and using deflection and made-up 'evidence' to justify their own wrong-doing. The Post Office scandal is yet the latest example of this. In the old days, they called this type of official investigation a white-wash.
