I fondly remember those sounds. Thank you for posting this! Even now, I am listening to the Vince Coglianse show. Some of today’s commercials are just as irritating.

I was looking for something else about this guy. I remember (just coincidentally) back when Star Wars came out, he panned it. Then a couple weeks later he “reviewed” it again. Like he hadn’t already. This time he liked it.

    Q. Who signed off from the all night show prior to Harden & Weaver coming on at 6AM, with the MORNING MARCH? Was that Bill Mayhue? He'd say run a mile e every day, and then would play The Onion Song!😂

Hollywood movies often try to recreate these days of yore but you can always tell it's fake. The actors can't completely get out of the time they are in and everybody just tries too hard.

Now there are shops where most of the moving walkways used to be. The CTA station ripped theirs out too. When you’ve been flying to MDW for 15 years, you notice these things.

so glad Leno took over from Carson. He was so boring his last 15 years. I watched Carson almost every night from the 60's and on. He had no competition either. Carson was just a rich bitter old man.

WMAL really took a bit when they lost the Redskins. That started the down fall. I remember when I worked at R.F.K. I saw the little transmitter. It looked like a little black box with a long antenna on the top. And to pick up the crowd noise,a Mike hanging down from the booth.

Thank you for this! I moved to Costa Mesa (Mesa Del Mar tract) in summer of 1973; I was 6, going on 7. The park was much the same in 73! I remember the swings and the castle, and tewinkle hill being all dirt.

I'll be damned, Lake of the Woods. Used to live there when I was a kid. My Dad took us down there to see it when it was an empty lot, and lo and behold a year later there was a brand new house - it blew my young fragile mind
