Hi my name is Niki, my partners in crime are Robin, and Boris the dog.
I discovered the term mudlarking last year (2018). I have been fortunate enough to have been brought up by the sea, here in Edinburgh and down in the South West coast of Scotland. Since a little girl I have been bringing home finds from the beach so mudlarking seemed a natural progression.
We do both rivers and coastline, to varying degrees of success.
What I love about this hobby is the social history, getting little clues to a past way of life.

some nice bottles i was finding codd beers gins and pot lids after a storm is the best time to search
torpedos a good find a a found 20 a few months all broken on my wish list
Always fascinating! If only the bottles could talk: "After drinking me, they flung me in the canal, and here I am, 100+ years later!
Thanks for joining me. I was also thinking that. People drank those bottles and enjoyed the sea air.
Fantastic torpedo bottle with the chunky Victorian writing! It must have taken some deep digging to research that one, but I'm glad you did. I like to know the stories behind these bottles.
Thanks so much for joining me on this one and for your comment. The research is fun especially when you find out some finer details from so far back. A miracle torpedo.
great finds! ever heard of anybody in trouble out there
A small boat owner around a month ago had to be rescued from the mud. There are some deep pockets out there if you don't have local knowledge. Thanks for joining me on this adventure.
Nice seeing you out and about. Hope Boris & Nicole are doing ok. Hope to see you more often!
Thanks for joining me on this adventure. Niki and Boris will be back soon in the warmer weather.
I love the bottles you found.
Thank you and thanks for joining me again on an adventure.
Nice bottle finds. Love the torpedo bottle.
Thanks very much. Well chuffed. Serendipity at it's finest.

Then they opened niddrie brick works my freind worked in that ,he wld come home head to toe in dust .
Lol the portobello brick works my old man worked in the power station ,got a front row set on day off demolishing it .digger driver ,
Apologies for the late comment; KZread doesn't always flag up new videos, and I missed this one. I get BBR magazine, and they refer to those bottles as 'round-bottomed cylinders.' I guess they would know the right terminology if anyone would. I've never found one myself - it's still on my wish list. That was a great find, and I loved the colour on that Tennent's bottle too.
Brilliant response. Thank you for the ID. An intact ginger beer has eluded us so far. I hope you find that cylinder bottle of your dreams.
Well Darlings, you have surpassed your finest efforts so far. Love to you all, Barbara
Boris and his lovely attitude is a welcome sight on the foreshore once again. Good to see you all out, it's been a Long, long time🎶.
Aww, seeing wee Boris makes me miss my last dog, she was a Jack Russel mix. That dog was probably my most intelligent dog I’ve ever had, she was taught so many little tricks. The dog I have now is the direct opposite, not much going on upstairs! 😂 But she’s so affectionate and loyal, I can’t help but love her. ✌🏼❤️

Thanks so much for joining us again. I still can't believe it you know.
great finds .Many years ago -1979- i can remember looking out on the mud at North Queensferry ,looks very similar to the South side. My school teacher had a relly who was contracted to boat out to pick up suiciders under the bridges
Thanks so much for joining us and for your piece of the Queensferry history puzzle.
Get in touch with the Barrs… they will be interested to see the very old stopper. And could possibly give you a date for it. B
It would be lovely to trapeze around in creeks and streams and not worry about venomous snakes and alligators! Not so here in Central Florida, our saying here is to beware; there’s an alligator in every creek, river, stream, lake and mud puddle! And lately they’ve been showing alligators at our beaches, too! Just recently a person came home to find an alligator in their house, he got in by the doggie door. 🤦🏼♀️ Nice bottles! Thanks for taking us along. ✌🏼❤️
Wow! That sounds worrying. Just that pesky leech trying to find me. Thanks for watching.
Good fun. I am wondering what is in the water that makes the glass so brown. It is a beautiful stretch of the burn. Thank you for the wee shot of Buzby. He will be very flattered when I tell him. B
I think it's algae which builds up on the side of the bottle which is exposed to sunlight.
Yes, that makes sense. Algae would stick to the inside of bottles. B
What lovely finds! I'm so glad you showed us part of your collection. Old bottles are marvellous!❤
Thanks for joining us again and for your kind comments.
