    What T supplement do transitioning people take to deepen voice?

  • @anothercarttogo1819
    @anothercarttogo18196 ай бұрын

    You probably already figured this stuff out by now, but usually when someone refers to something called "T," what they usually mean is the hormone testosterone! Testosterone can be taken in many forms throughout HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), either through supplements, gels, or injections; it's usually whatever is the most comfortable, or most effective, for the person going on T.

    We are learning each day as a species just how much of our experience is measured on a spectrum rather than binary or strict classification. Sound frequency of typical male and female voices overlap between 145Hz and 175Hz. Vocal tones in that range are only distinguishable by the manerisms of speech and diction. This is most easily understood by listening to the stereotypical "gay" male voice. It sounds feminine but is still interpreted by our brains as a man's voice. It is proximal to androgynus speech, but on the masculine side of the specrtum. Hopefully you found this helpful. 😃

    My wife can do both, in public she usually manages a cute sneeze but at home she makes the kids jump its so loud, she says its more satisfying and she only sneezes once when she lets go, can be 3 or 4 when she's trying to be polite, do you find that?

    The cutest female sneezes I've seen is when the woman completely stifles the force and sound of the sneeze, either by practicing a stifling technique or by just pinching the nose shut, and then they make a little high-pitched and somewhat fake "choo" sound afterwards. It's sorta like the sneeze itself is held in and totally silent but then they say "choo" a few seconds later to let everyone know that they sneezed. Maybe it's so they don't look weird. LOL

  • @YourLessonsNow
    @YourLessonsNow Жыл бұрын

    Those sneezes are definitely adorable sounding. It's up to individual choice, but for a lot of us holding in a sneeze can be pretty painful. Plus sneezing is an important function that helps remove allergens and debris from your body. This is another way to help feminize this action without stopping that process entirely.

    I'm just getting started. My first lesson was yesterday with Christi. I'm very intimidated and sound like a cartoon when trying to convey a higher pitch. You sound incredible. If I could get just half as wonderfully as your voice, I'd be happy 😁

  • @YourLessonsNow

    Oh my gosh, Christi is such a wonderful teacher! Congrats on your first lesson! It can be difficult when you make a sound and it doesn't feel like you're moving in the direction you want to be in. But it's gradual and incremental discovery and control over your voice. I've definitely learned to embrace the silly sounds along the way. <3

    It's a great question! An androgynous voice is a mix of both masculine and feminine voice qualities. What that mix is, is very dependent on that individual. So it can mean something different to different people. An easy examples would be- Speaking with a very bouncy up and down speech pattern (typically perceived as more feminine) with dark resonance to the vowels (typically perceived as masculine). You can also do the opposite- very monotone speech pattern (typically perceived as masculine) paired with bright resonance (typically perceived as more feminine). Blending these qualities together creates an overall more androgynous voice quality. We can also make a video describing this in further detail! Let me know if this help. :)

    So here's where I'm at. I've got the Darth vador breathing down and I can lower my larynx but when I speak it doesn't sound natural. It just sounds like I'm a girl talking in a fake deep voice, which isn't what I'm going for.

  • @YourLessonsNow
    @YourLessonsNow Жыл бұрын

    Hi Eiri, thank you for reaching out! The "Vader breath" and other supplemental activities are a great way to open up your resonating areas and create a larger space for your voice to live. Giving it that deeper sound. Think of the "Vader breath" as a dial on an audio mixing board. The two extremes are 0= No Vader and 10= Aaalll the Vader. And there are so many numbers in between! When you began this practice you were most likely on the lower end of the scale (0-3) not hearing much deepness? Now it sounds that you have mastered dialing your resonance all the way to 10 and found exactly how deep your tone can go. Now you get to determine exactly how much of that you want in your voice. Practice by reducing it a little bit, little by little. Turning the dial down to a 7, or a 6. Until you have a nice "cave-y" nuance to your voice while sounding more natural. It's all about finding what mix is right for you, and that takes a little extra exploration and time. Hope this helps! More voice masculinization videos to come!

    The swallow method never worked for me. Gradual changes over many months focussing just on the larynx and resonance while otherwise speaking naturally and not worrying yet about pitch or inflection finally yielded the progress I thought was beyond me. Other elements will be added later. I was unable to manipulate more than one element at a time.
