Very well done instructional video. I'm 59, bought an old backhoe last year, learned how to use it, otherwise, no heavy equip experience. Have a rented skidsteer arriving tomorrow.... watched a number of videos, I think yours is my favorite... very comprehensive, start to finish... its all well and good to tell someone what the joysticks will do, but starting your video with safety, including how the get out if you roll over... and also maintenance... where's the diesel fill, oil, etc... your video is start to finish, nuts and bolts... Parents should be proud, keep up the good work. Mike, in Canada

Lastly, while scooping into the pile. Lay arms down at lowest position and dump bucket til it sits level, drive into the pile and curl only when the bucket has entered at least 3/4 the way into the pile. Also keep the bucket lower to the ground keeping center of gravity down low. Been running a skid steer for 18 years.

He’s made a lot of progress since that first time running the machine. Literally was learning stuff just moments ahead of each segment. You’re right about the block heater, of course, but I decided not to interrupt his flow since the project was due the next day. With a hybrid learning schedule at school, he gets to do off-campus construction projects with my neighbor, a seasoned operator like yourself. Good teaching makes a huge difference! Thanks, Jeremy!

Cord you unplugged was the block heater. It keeps the block warm for easier starting during cold starting at freezing temperatures. The heater core that has antifreeze in it is what gives the cabin heat.
