    Gates has a install kit. They should send it to a good KZread mechanic to demonstrate how it is used. They shouldn't be doing it. This plays like an old time factory's fact video, done by a professional photographer but not a personality.

    I bet anything if I used my Gates tools on my 2016 Toyota Sienna at 6:00 to loosen the decoupler pulley I would break the tool. Toyota has a habit of way over torquing everything on new cars at the factory.

    It would be nice to have a threaded hole perpendicular to the open end slot, after you have removed pulley or sprocket. Simply insert threaded hex screw into tapered hub perpendicully along tapered edge forcing slot to open slightly

    its better to buy a new alternator it came with the pulley ...the problem is the cost of the pulley alone is pretty much the same than a new alternator ...so buy a new alternator not the stupid pulley only

    Best cooling system video I have seen. Problem is where to find one who has and knows how to preform this service. Also, how do you know you have enough water OUT to allow enough anti freeze back in. I am due a coolant change on my 2018 Explorer (20,000 miles) but do not trust anyone as most won't let you watch. No Idea who would do this type service in Midlothian Va. area. I am not due until May and am now in recon mode.🦇

    Have a 2013 Ford Taurus with 140,000 kilometers. Had a leak coming from the weephole. Used about 4 liters of coolant in 3 months. Had to wait to get an OEM Ford water pump in. The water pump was functional but leaked. The mechanic said there is nothing noticeable in terms of bearing noise or any issue with pumps funtionality. However, it can fail it the seal blows open. Had it replaced cost $2000.00 That was cheap. Dealer and two shops quoted me $3600.00 CDN. Hopefully this engine will take me for another 100,000 kms. The car is great otherwise.

    It's 2023 and here I am working on my Mother's backup 1997 T&C w/ only 54k miles and I'm replacing the water pump and see this weird double sided v ribbed belt that I didn't even know existed...after working for a DCJR dealer in the 90s to 2011 before I went to a specialty shop and I've never seen or heard or these upgrade kits hahahaha. Imagine my surprise when I look one up to order for her and it's probably the most expen$ive serpentine belt I've ever ran across short of niche import or supercars. This is ridiculous lol.

    It's like 150 bucks on Rock Auto. I'd hazard a guess that 150 is well worth it vs having your mother stranded on the road somewhere with an overheated T&C and no AC or heat (depending on the time of year) while she waits for a tow or mobile mechanic.

    Normally what I do is remove my fan belt and turn the bearing. I was getting ready to take a 1400 mi round trip. So I normally change the oil and for some reason this time I decided to check the fan belt. I carry a spare one with me but if it's bad I will replace it since I'm home. I was just goofing around and spun my water pump. It was all cranky. Not a drop coming out of the weep hole. I was very lucky back then the stores did not stay open that late on Sunday. Since it was a mustang with the 5.0 engine everybody has that water pump. Ever since that happened whenever I do maintenance on my cars I take the time to spend everything to make sure nothing is crunchy. When I replace my water pumps and hoses and belts I purposely buy this brand. It's something that's been around since I bought my first car and I always use your parts. I can honestly say I don't shop the cheapest price I shop for quality parts.

    THIS SAME DEVICE WAS INVENTED BY THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY 30+YRS. AGO......for pulmonary therapy & is a breathing machine that pulsating air is nebulized to break up deep mucus in the lungs from pneumonia, COPD, emphazymia, & saved many lives from COVID. Its called IPV Therapy by Purcussion Aire, & actually exercises & can restore lung function vs. all the inhalers they prescribe but many hospitals still don't use it due to expense, however home health agencies own these things & can do it in-home for a patient if a Dr. will order it. If you know of anyone with lung problems, they NEED that IPV Therapy ASAP, & tell them you learned about it from a car guy who was involved in the Medical industry! Cool to see it used for a Automotive Cooling system that sort of like has pneumonia!!!!!!!!

    Just replaced a Camry water pump Dayco brand massive seal failure after about 1 week after. Also replaced a Citroen c4 VTS water pump FAI brand and lasted about a week with yet another massive seal failure. Parts have gone to the dogs! Even this guy is trying to cover up leaks and say its normal to get out of warranties and then add an insulting edge to say "don't have a cry" tells me allot about this guy. I've seen 95% of water pumps running year after year without a drip or mark of coolant coming from the weep hole. New pumps should not weep anything at all and if they do, they are crap!

    I'm just confused still, iv been working on cars my whole life and as soon as I see water from the weep hole, replace asap. But right now I have a 03 ram 3500 with a 5.9 and the water pump is maybe 6 months old and I notice a little durning the break In period but now I get like this this video says a few drips from the weep hole not enough to even hit the floor and it is intermittent. I would assume this is normal per this video? Or should I replace with a new? That's where I am confused

    exact same situation 5.9 cummins with a gates water pump put on there 18k miles ago and i observe a very very slow drip of coolant. bought the truck used a month ago. should i leave it or replace it again?

  • @bluecollardiesel128
    @bluecollardiesel1288 ай бұрын

    @nicsye12 I don't know, it's funny because I called gates customer care, and the guy said if it was his he would replace it. I didn't replace it because I live in AZ and it's too hot to do anything outside. Still leaks every once in awhile it doesn't hit the floor. I see a small coolant drt drop on my sway bar but never hits the floor. So I don't know. Iv been running it and it has been fine
