Wow! This was so helpful. We have a sliding barn door under the deck and it gets windy in Kansas! That door would swing up and down banging on the deck. (It came like that with the house). I will try the latch part you showed for the first door and it looks easy enough for us to do. Thank you Alec for taking the time for the video and sharing it on KZread.

You tellin' me a heifer with a bee in 'er bonnet won't bust that belly blocker off there like it weren't even there? A solid post at that or even a bit tighter spacing, ok, but I'll be hornswaggled if that actually works.

Maybe not an angry heifer but the horses and donkeys can't pass through (or Kevin). They do like to stick their heads through to watch life on the other side. Set this up in July 2017 and still there today. A

you remind me of a guy I met at a farmers market in Nova Scotia as a kid like 18-19 years ago lol,I don't own an auger but, I do know if you live in a city/town & need to store a small sailboat (like a lazer 16) or a kayak in your shed, the exact same principal but using rope works well. just make sure the hull is supported decently so it doesn't warp over time, especially if your garage gets quite warm.

@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch Oh, I didn't see this stuff before. I had heard of a friends neighbor that had tried everything for a yard elm and lost it. Must be new, but how expensive, and does it work if the tree has started getting it? I've got saplings all started if ours all go, so far the most hardy seem to be walnut, hickory, & oak, but ash, silver maple, even hawthorn have died. Survival of the toughest and stall floors etc. for the rest.
