I had a discussion with a family friend and it made me incredibly upset, he tells me that I tend to “push people and family away” I ask him why does he think that and he says well “by moving out of your family’s house” but that’s my prerogative, if I want to move out I can move out, I’m an adult and I make my own decisions, if they have a problem with it that’s their business. I’m not going to let other people’s “feelings” dictate or control my life, and he goes on to say that I don’t do anything to show them that I want to be “part of the family” but here’s the thing, why aren’t I already part of the family by default? Everyone is deserving of a loving family, but apparently this one requires one to meet certain criteria in order to be part of their club. I feel like I have to be a people pleaser to them…and he thinks I have a “fear of rejection” towards my aunt, that seems too sexual and weird to me, like, she’s my aunt, not a potential romantic partner.

I hope you're keeping well, wherever in this world you are. I'm still here in good ol' Carrollton. I've been retired for four years now, and I've taken up auctioneering -- rare coins and paper currency mostly. You know how kids are that way. One day they're trading baseball cards and popping wheelies. The next, they're auctioning off rare coins. Anyhow, I hope you're well and thriving. Much love, Eric D.

Last year I lost my job and was mistreated by HR, had to get lawyer and defend myself. Lawyer was an idiot had to do work for him and he thought I was crazy. I ended up winning case based on work I did providing leverage points to defend myself against false bullying accusations from HR. I ended up getting rehired by my former boss as a consultant now who says I'm the best guy in the business. I also got a full time 9 to 5 job at a big company. After applying for 1000s of jobs and being unemployed for 6 months and borrowing money off friends maxing out credit cards going on EI and driving Uber

I can describe why life is unfair in one word: Humanity.
@George546-he5tzАй бұрын
Here is how I see it. We make our own lives hard, and it is hard to accept responsibility for most. However, others make your life hard through no fault of your own and then you are expected to take and swallow it as your very own responsibility. This unfairness is what makes it really hard, especially for those who actually take responisibility. Instead of being offered any compassion we are told we need to change because of what so and so thinks, etc. So their faults are thrown back in our faces and we have to accept responsibility and pay for others faults.

Hi Eric, could you please make a video on creativity, and psychosis? In one of your videos, you briefly mentioned that you had a psychotic break yourself, but you did not discuss it further. If you are willing to share this, could you please elaborate on how you've managed to navigate through it. I have a very intense personality and approach to life; I can't help but feel things to the point where I sometimes feel like I am courting madness especially when I am harnessing that intensity to create something new. I am really interested in what you have to say on this fine balance between genius (unfiltered and unbound creativity) and madness. Thank you

I like this insight but I disagree a bit on the opening supposition that envy is rarely murderous. Maybe you're correct statistically when you think of men controlling their female partners in domestic violence situations but I'm also thinking of young (typically) males going on shooting sprees in schools, malls, churches, etc., and my guess is that under that overt display of hatred/rage is basic envy.
