  My dog is a bahuahua (basenji / chihuahua) and while she can (and does) bark, she also vocalizes like this when I’m scratching her.

  Agree, not cool. I have had five Basenjis over last 45 years. From his speech and ear position it is clear that Simon is distressed in the car and thru the whole time this unrestrained girl is teasing him.

  It feels unreal how this is how we sounded not even 4 months ago and then now we made it to semifinals at grand nationals. It amazes me seeing videos of our show at different competitions, compared to our final performance. Can’t wait to see what comes next year!

  do you own dogs? have you seen them play with each other? that is what they do, fake bite/ lightly nibble at each other, sometimes they will even put their whole mouth on each other's necks. You can obviously see the dog wasn't trying to bite the kid at all, they ever playing. Of course never play like that with your dog unless you understand it's temperament very well, and never to other people's dogs

  This is such an elegant, beautiful breed. Simon sounded distressed in the car and I agree with the other commenter, the girl should not be permitted to tease and badger this lovely dog. Shame on her and the person filming to allow it to happen.

  ​@IamNuts114 she is definitely teasing the dog. Luckily the dogs respons is very gentle. But it's disrespectful and potentially dangerous to tease animals like that. Somebody need to tell that girl to stop.

  Sadly Simon passed away on 1/8/2016 of natural causes. He lived to be 10 years old.

  My Basenji Knocks the gearshift when I let her run like that. She has also yanked my arm when it was on the steering wheel and yanked the steering wheel with her leg. Now I tie her leash to the passenger side headrest so she can't run all over and cause an accident.

  I felt uncomfortable watching it. Simon is showing great restraint. She’s teasing him and almost sticking her fingers in his mouth. It made me wince watching those flailing fingers get so close to his teeth and almost hitting him in the face. I kept thinking when is Simon going to say, “Enough already!”
