We live in the beautiful and spectacular Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. We love feeding the wild birds and love observing the wild animals in our area. We love flowers, wild flowers, bees, butterflies and all the other wild things that share and enjoy our little piece of Heaven on earth. We hope you enjoy. :) We have used and love the Browning Trail Cameras for most of our videos. They are exceptional cameras as far as we are concerned and they do an awesome job catching everything we don't. :)

Looks like you’ve got Zinnias. That hummer loves them! Great vid!
Yup, you are right! I just love zinnias! They are such a happy flower and so pretty! Thank you for your kind comment Leslie! :)
I’ve seen them drink from birdbaths too.
Oh that's awesome Leslie! Ya got one on me! Isn't it so neat when you see a bird or creature do something you never expected to see them do? I just love great catches like that! I love the hummingbirds...they make me smile!
He must be a young hawk. Poor baby. But it looks like he still has fun. Sounds like the Jays and finches are having kittens!
Yes, I seen an adult red-tail hawk and 3 babies flying with her on Monday this week when I was watering the plants in the front of the house ..I am sure this is one of them. Yes, having to grow up so fast as a bird or mammal has to be so tough, but yet they get it done through trial and error like this one did. It did it well too! LOL! Yes, the birds sound the alarm when these guys show up! :) Thank you for your comment. :)
I just love how his face looks all fuzzy when he comes out. Happy Hawk!
He did look pretty content and proud of himself once he got all wet didn't he? Master of the floating bird bath! LOL! Thank you so much for your kind comment leslie! :)
They are all thirsty this year in particular! Nice that you provide them this sanctuary!
Thank you for your kind comment leslie! Yes, it has been so hot, we are happy to offer life-giving water for all of the creatures that live around us. :)
Foxes are so shy…but I like knowing they are around.
Me too Leslie! They are so beautiful and I love that they are showing up on the game cam. I get excited when I see that they are enjoying our wild backyard. Thank you for your comment Leslie. :)
Funny to watch a hawk looking confused! lol
I loved being able to capture this hawk! He is quite the entertainer...lol! It was so fun to watch and no one got hurt! :)
I know that this is designated a wildlife spot, but honestly, it sounds super inviting for us humans to hang out too!
Thank you for your kind comment Leslie and I'd tell you to come on down.....BUT let me tell you, the gnats are absolutely EVIL in this area...they sting, fly up my nose, fly into my mouth, get under my glasses and sting my upper nose area and get in my eyes, fly up my shorts and sting. I'm telling ya, you wouldn't be in here for very long my friend! LOL!! This place is definitely bug heaven also and they protect it very well.....I always get out of this area ASAP when I have to do things like watering the birds, filling up the pond! LOL!!
Oh, how I love a good rain. The smell and especially the drought relief! YeY for Mother Nature!
Amen!! :) Love the rain...cleans the air, waters the forests, waters the birds and animals and it does smell absolutely awesome! :)
Looks like the word has gone out! Your place is the perfect bird spa!😊
LOL Leslie! :) We try to keep the spa and bird feeder areas up to their standards! :) Thank you for your kind reply! :)
Such a pretty set up for them!
Hey Leslie, Thank you for you kind comment. I love all their visits to our backyard. :)
Love the dappled sunshine and so does the baby!
I just love the bird babies...they are so curious in their big world! Thank you for your kind comment Leslie. :)
Ha! This is our baby bird bath Mr.!😊
I guess all the critters flight over stuff! lol!! Thank you for your comment. :)
They look so relaxed, they have got to be the same ones that have been frequenting. So nice to watch.😊
They look like they are enjoying the big world out there! :) I just love seeing these sweet babies enjoying life. :)
@@quietbynature2064 me too!
He is gorgeous. And I can even see the small feathers that partially cover his beak. Great vid!
I know it is nature's way that he takes my beautiful songbirds and rabbits and I don't like that he does that, but I felt really sorry for him when viewing these videos. It has been so, so hot and dry here in our area and I know that it has been so hard on the creatures outside. I am glad that he found his way to our backyard to get a thirst quenching drink. :) Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Leslie! :)
Yes! Momma and babies! I love robins and their songs! Thank you for this peaceful moment😊
Thank you Leslie! :) I am sure momma knew where to bring her babies so that they can find food and water to sustain them. I just love this sweet video! :)
Looks different than our skunks that have two white stripes going down the back. They are so rare to see. And so cute when they are young! Thank you!😊
We hadn't seen a skunk for a long time! Glad to see this fella stop by. I am sure the coyotes have been rough on them. I hope he comes back to visit us. Those little ones are so cute when they do the stomping of their feet. Tough guys..lol! Thank you for your kind remark Leslie. :)
The pond is as peaceful to watch and listen to as ever. Thank you!
You are so kind Leslie! You know, this is a small pond, but I get the most wonderful and exciting entertainment with it. I have not ever regretted getting it. It draws and serves all of the wild creatures that I love! :)
So cute. The audio is so good that I can hear the different kinds of birds on your property!
I just love the game cam. We would miss SO much without it. Thank you for your kind comment. :)
Yes! It’s hot everywhere! Crazy weather. But at least there are people like us who think of the little wild ones and their comfort too. I love your videos. Just the cool water sound and the animals doing what they feel in a safe environment! Thank you!😊
Thank you Leslie for your comment. Yes, so hot! I feel so bad for the creatures right now! But, together we all can make a huge difference and make things better for the birds and animals that make this world a better place for us! Last night while watering, I seen a tree swallow baby on the ground...I think a little too anxious for mom and dad to bring food. :) Too little to fly, I picked it up and put it back into the tree swallow nest box...just the cutest little thing!! But mom and dad were pretty stirred up with me picking up their baby. I got out of there as fast as I could. :) But, oh my that baby was so stinkin' adorable!! :)
We are currently having a day of clouds and storms so to see this video of somewhere sunny and peaceful is especially welcome today! Thank you!!!❤
Hey Leslie...please send those clouds and storms our way! We will take any rain. Thank you for your kind comment!
@@quietbynature2064 will do!
After a nice little bath! I love the way the sun hits those Lilly pads and makes them turn such a vibrant green! I love summer!
Thank you Leslie for your comment! Yes, those lily pads are so pretty and that green algae is growing well also.....lol! I usually have had in the past more plants in the pond to give the pond more shade and try to keep the algae at bay, but I am after that frog and the more cover i give him, the more danger the birds are in and it makes it that much more difficult for me to catch him, so we are doing without the extra pond foliage this year. I will get him eventually, but he's onto me...... :)
So that’s what that is! I should have asked. How cool is that!
Hey Leslie, Thank you for your comment. This pond is 2 foot deep and as I learned about the dangers of ponds for animals and birds, I did my best to try to make sure that my pond was as safe as possible for them. The white blocks that you can see on each end of the pond are sitting on the steps of the pond so that if an animal falls into the pond it can get to the steps and get out. I also read that birds might miscalculate the depth of the water and drown, so I bought the floating bird bath so they can still get a drink out of the pond or take a bath. That pond has produced a lot of hilarious antics from animals and birds. Water is a huge attractant and if you have moving water with a waterfall and/or fountain sprayer, it attracts them that much more. :) If you do a search for floating bird bath, several companies pop up that carry this exact floating bird bath. Amazon has them just FYI. :)
Such a nice area y’all have created!
Thank you Leslie! What started it for me was a youtube video. Plant plants, put damp cardboard around plants. Place mulch on top of cardboard...bingo...automatic beautiful! Of course the areas have to be maintained...weeded, mulch reapplied, but as the plants grow bigger..less maintenance.....all good! :)
I agree! We have crows and ravens here, ( guess everyone does). But they are smart and very communicative birds. I encourage their presence here.
You know, there is nothing like the caw, caw, caw of a crow! It is a soothing sound to me. Like you said, they are definitely communicators and it is so fun to listen to them when you have several in the backyard! I am so happy that I have a fellow crow lover! :) Thank you for your comment Leslie! :)
I’ve never seed a Rudbeckia like that before. How lovely and so tall. I had an American beauty bush at my home in Nashville ..loved it and the hydrangeas. You really have a well thought out landscaping for attractiveness and for animal comfort and habitat. Loved the red twig dogwoods. So pretty even I winter! Thanks for this tour!
Hey Leslie, I had never seen this tall Rudbeckia before either until I seen someone on KZread doing a backyard tour. Boy, once I seen that plant, the hunt was on! I just love this plant..something different for me...but something also for the pollinators. Check out Rare Roots...they have a wonderful selection of plants and their packaging of your plants cannot be compared to anybody else's packaging! When I read about the red twig dogwoods and seen the pictures, I ordered 3 from Proven Winners. They were dinky, didn't know how they would do, but gracious they have really grown and are so gorgeous in the winter. You can even cut the branches to decorate for Christmas and it won't hurt the plant at all. Those American beauty bushes are amazing! There should be a gazillion berries this Fall and Winter, but they will all be eaten by the birds. Even though I feed the birds, they love to eat off of the native plants a lot. As far as the hydrangeas, we have a landscaping place here called Hillbilly Landscaping. I have gotten plants from her too. She showed me a hydrangea and I just fell in love!! They are so gorgeous. I feel that everyone needs to have them, they make you take a second look that's for sure. Thank you for you kind comment. I appreciate it! Happy 4th of July! Be safe and have fun! :)
I love the contrast between the sunlit lily pads and the ones that are not lit. Such a peaceful scene.
Thank you for your kind comment Leslie! I love the lilies and their blooms. I love the peacefulness of this video too. :)
We have Stellar and Pinion jays here. The Stellars don’t tolerate each other or others. The pinion jays come in flocks!
I would love to see your stellar and pinion jays in person. Maybe someday....I know the blue jays can be really ornery and rob other birds' nests, but I try to keep them fed enough to where they leave the other birds alone. But I love my blue jays!
They are so beautiful. Thank you!
I love seeing the foxes...they are a rare sight. Someone once told me..you feed the birds, that brings in the prey, which brings in the predators. A perfect cycle of life. I don't like it sometimes, but it is nature's way. Thank you for your kind comment! :)
@@quietbynature2064 I agree, the cycle exists with or without us. But I believe that animal habitats are not as easy for them to find anymore. I love fellow souls who make little quiet water habitats for the animals. Especially as hot as it has been.
@@leslieparker3914 Water is life...for us, the mammals, the birds, the insects. I feel for them, but feel good while helping them. :) Thanks for your comment. :)
Such a sweet scene. 😊
Hi Leslie! Yes, I love the calm sweet scenes too! Thank you for your kinda comment. :)
I miss the Cardinals of Tennessee. And the black capped chickadees. The water feature is a big bird draw here too.
The cardinals are one of my favorites along with the black capped chickadees and titmice. They are such sweet non combative birds. :) Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day! :)
Party time!! What fun to watch the birds cool off!!
So glad you enjoyed!! Thank you for your kind comment! We are so happy that the birds have an area in which they can really cool off and drink. :)
It’s so hot out these days. What a wonderful bird oasis.
You know it....so very hot here lately...it's getting very scary with no rain. I feel so bad for the birds and critters and I try real hard to make things as easy for them as possible. Thank you for your kind reply.
These guys are loving this space! You can so tell that it makes them feel good.
Yes, they are some hot birds I am sure! i know that cool water has to feel so good. :) Thank you for your kind comment. :)
How long has this pond been in?
We have had it in for several years now. It attracted birds and animals right off the bat! Water is an excellent attractant because everything needs it to live. We also get the migrating birds...so awesome! :)
Love to see them enjoy themselves bathing in the sun.
They are a lot of fun to watch! As you can see, I have large rocks in the basin (got at Lowe's) so that the birds can bathe without worrying about drowning. Also, in the main pond, you can see at both ends I have placed large blocks so that if an animal gets in the pond, it can get out and it also gives the birds a platform to get on to get a bath. I really tried to do my research on the pond before putting it in. :)
Awwwwe! Look how cute it is. This has got to be a fav watering spot for them all. ❤
Still a sweet sound. Love the rain
I love the sound of rain too! So comforting! It has been very hot here in Tennessee here recently. I hope we get more rain soon. Thank you for your comment. :)
@@quietbynature2064 hey! I’m from Tennessee. Third generation to grow up in Nashville until I was 57! Got married and moved to NM. I miss TN so much! Miss the people, trees, fireflies!
@@leslieparker3914 Hopefully someday, maybe you can move back! I live 1 mile from Dollywood.
Cool how you can see their eyes at night. Thanks. Love night visitors
I love the night camera too! It catches everything we would miss. ❤
Or vice versa…we have blue herons who will gobble up all kinds of animals!
Shew...I have seen the blue heron videos on youtube. They will eat a lot of things that I never figured they would.
@@quietbynature2064 I know! I’ve seen those as well. Herons, Pelicans. Anything they can get down their throat is on the menu.
Still plenty of nighttime bird sounds too. Nice and soothing.😊
Thank you Leslie for your kind remarks....I have a saying...if you feed the birds, you get the songs. :) It's true too! The birds definitely stay close to their food and water sources..it's terrific!! :) With this fox running around, you can hear the alarm calls of the birds too...they know it's there! :)
What tha…wish they’d clean out my birdbath! Or at least not poop in it! I love the way the water sounds. I could sit and watch/ listen all day.
Hey Leslie, I hear ya on the bird baths! I have 15 saucer bird baths ( from Lowe's) scattered around our property and every one of them get used and of course after they get their baths, they always poop in them...go figure! LOL!! Everything you see here for the pond is from Lowe's and easy to set up....now digging the hole to place the pond in..well we sure did sweat bullets ( I promised my husband I would help dig the hole so I could get :) ), but after getting that done, everything else was easy. We have an outdoor approved extension cord that runs from our back porch electrical socket to the pond to run everything. We have gotten a ton of enjoyment out of this pond and it has provided a lot of water to the birds and critters that visit our backyard which was the original plan...an additional water source for all of the creatures that visit. It is amazing when you see what all comes in to drink...everything that is alive....bees, wasps, other bugs. Dragonflies have laid their eggs in this pond...I have seen their nymphs. The butterflies are attracted to wet areas so I spray down areas around the yard for them to get moisture. So many things need water to survive and I never really thought about it until we first put out the saucer bird baths and seen what they attracted. It's so interesting! Thank you again for your kind comment! Have a wonderful day! :)
Heres a link to another person I follow that just shows animals doing just animal things. No carnival show. No music. Nature is its own beauty and has quite enough entertainment value. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJOX1Leoo6rQqLw.htmlsi=u39SU5jLi94DooHm. Cathy
You have set up a wonderful habitat for animals. I like seeing things kept simple and about animals just being animals. They don’t need to do cute tricks for us humans to entertain. Animals just being out in nature is the best videos in my opinion. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind reply Leslie. I totally agree with you! It's hard when you see evidence of a predator taking a bird or rabbit, but it is nature...brutal...but nature. Creating these areas really bring nature right up to your door and I just love that!
That was sweet to hear and watch. Thank you 😊
Thank you for your kind reply @Leslieparker. I love my wild birds so much. This small pond is one of the greatest things we have ever added to our backyard to help out the wildlife and it has also added so much enjoyment for us. Thank you again.
Awesome view of nature that yr camara captured👍
Thank you so much spiritual world for your kind comment. I just love what the camera catches that there is no way we could. I just love our critters! :)
My fathers loved bunnies
They are so sweet! I love them too...especially when they are having fun. Thank you for your kind comment!
They are really cute, lovely video 😊
Thank you so much for your kind reply wildtravelsdemystified! I do love my cottontails! :)
Wow! That is such a stunning Hawk! Amazing video 😊👏👏👏
I am so glad that this hawk took a break from hunting my birds at the bird feeders! Thank you so much for your kind reply.
You might have to change your channel name to "Dogs Running Loose" 😆 You would never have to worry about my dog though because he never leaves my side...whether I like it or not 😂 That must be frustrating though!
Hey Myayard! Thanks for your reply. I love dogs....we have one ourselves and two strictly indoor cats. I really worry about all these loose dogs chasing and harassing my wildlife in the backyard. They also make my dog go crazy in the house if she sees one loose. They have also been in the road and have almost been hit by us and other people driving down our road and we have a pack of coyotes here. It's just not safe for them to be loose and there's no good reason to let them loose. I need neighbors like you! :)
I saw one coyote on my trail camera and now I won't even take my dog in that area on a leash, can't imagine just letting him loose, I would just worry too much! I love your yard, it's really beautiful!
Thank you so much! It is a yard that has been built around all the birds and creatures I have wanted to attract. I have attracted some I don't care for, but I really enjoy the birds and rabbits...especially in the spring and summer when we have their babies to watch.
